Ever found a song that you think was written just for you? What I mean is, it's a song that you feel is speaking right to you because you can identify with it. If that's the case, post it here!
I'll start us off with this awesome song!
Song: I'm Still Here
Artist: Goo Goo Dolls
I am a question to the world
Not an answer to be heard
Or a moment that's held in your arms

And what do you think you'd ever say
I won't listen anyway
You don't know me
And I'll never be what you want me to be

And what do you think you'd understand
I'm a boy ? No, I'm a man
You can't take me and throw me away
And how can you learn what's never shown
Yeah you stand here on your own
They don't know me
'Cause I'm not here

And I want a moment to be real
Wanna touch things I don't feel
Wanna hold on and feel I belong
And how can the world want me to change
They're the ones that stay the same
They don't know me
'Cause I'm not here

And you see the things they never see
All you wanted I could be
Now you know me and I'm not afraid
And I want to tell you who I am
Can you help me be a man
They can't break me
As long as I know who I am

And I want a moment to be real
Wanna touch things I don't feel
Wanna hold on and feel I belong
How can the world want me to change
They're the ones that stay the same
They can't see me
But I'm still here

They can't tell me who to be
'Cause I'm not what they see
Yeah the world is still sleepin?
While I keep on dreamin? for me
And their words are just whispers and lies
That I'll never believe

And I want a moment to be real
Wanna touch things I don't feel
Wanna hold on and feel I belong
And how can they say I'll never change
They're the ones that stay the same
I'm the one now
'Cause I'm still here
I'm the one
'Cause I'm still here
I'm still here
I'm still here
I'm still here

I think there are two songs that really describe me.. Really hit home.
They are "Ashes" by Five Finger Death Punch
"Nothing So Good" by Nazareth
"Never Enough" by Five Finger Death Punch
and
"Touch Me" by The Doors

Reasons:
"Ashes"
Ashes really just describes me.. People really misunderstood who I am and what I do. Its really about someone saying "I'm here, you don't have to like me". Like, I don't care what people think about me.. I'll just live my life.

"Nothing So Good"
I just love the weekends!

"Never Enough"
I guess this really describes me because sometimes I just HATE everything. Just wanna explode.

"Touch Me"
I guess you can say I like the ladies. :)

Here are the lyrics:

"Ashes"

(1st Verse)
You dont understand me..And you probably never will!!
I got a tendency to self destruct And a soft spot, for the filth!!
A hair trigger temperament A switchblade, for a tongue!!
Im a walking one man genocide
With a black belt, in corrupt!!

(CHORUS)
EVERYTHING I TOUCH TURNS TO ASHES!!
..FALLS AWAY!! ..IT FALLS AWAY!?
EVERYTHING I TOUCH TURNS TO ASHES!!??!!
..SLIPS RIGHT THROUGH MY HANDS!!??!!

... Love me!?
... Hate me!?!
Isolate me, everyday that Im alive!!
Strait up mentally unstable!!
YOU DONT HAVE TO LIKE MY LIFE!!

(2nd Verse)
Im a jinx, a curse;
... Some say, THE WORST!!!
Im a savage, rabid beast!!
Ive been called so many ******* things
It doesnt affect me in the least!!
Ive stolen, lied, been crucified!! But I dont regret a thing!!
Im an egocentric, masochist With a sadists point of bleak!!

(CHORUS)
EVERYTHING I TOUCH TURNS TO ASHES!!
FALLS AWAY!! ..IT FALLS AWAY!!??!!
EVERYTHING I TOUCH TURNS TO ASHES!!??!!
...IT SLIPS RIGHT THROUGH MY HANDS!?!?

... Love me?!
... Hate me!?
Isolate me, everyday that Im alive!!
Live to prove you wrong. its easy
When your heart is filled with ice!!
Chapters In My Life Define Me!!
Changed me into this deprived
Strait up, mentally unstable!!
YOU DONT HAVE TO LIKE MY LIFE!!!

"Nothing So Good"

Ain't nothin' so good
As a sunday morning
When the day is dawnin? kinda makes you feel good

There ain't nothing so fine
As a lazy weekend
Just hangin' out with your best friend
There ain't nothing so good
There ain't nothing so good as a good time

There's nothing so right as the right time
I said please ? don't count on me
Said please ? don't count on me
There's nothing so good as a good time
Maybe there should
There ain't nothing so good

Ain't nothin' so strong
As the strength of a good love
I can't get enough
Can't ever get too much love

There ain't nothing so right
As the sound of your voice
I'm gonna make it my choice
And get into something good

There ain't nothing so good as a good time
There ain't nothing so right as the right time
I said please ? don't count on me
Said please ? don't you count on me
There's nothing so good as a good time
Maybe there should
There ain't nothing so good

Sail away
Can't drift too far
Gotta get away
Be where you are
Sail away, sail away
Sail on far
Gotta find a way
Into your heart

Ain't nothin' so good
As a sunday morning
When the day is dawning
Kinda makes you feel good

There ain't nothing so fine
As a lazy weekend
Just hangin' out with your best friend
There ain't nothing so good
There ain't nothing so good as a good time
Ain't nothing so right as the right time
I said please ? don't count on me
Said please ? don't count on me
There's nothing so good as a good time
Maybe there should
There ain't nothing so good

Good, good, nothin' so good
Good, good, nothin' so good

Good, good, nothin' so good
Nothin' so good as a good time
Good, good, nothin' so good
Nothin' so good as a good time
Good, good, nothin' so good
Nothin' so good as a good time
Good, good, nothin' so good

Nothin' so good as a good time
Good, good, nothin' so good
Nothin' so good as a good time
Good, good, nothin' so good

"Never Enough"

I'm so fed up with everyone around me
(No one seems to care)
I'm just so far gone and nothing's gonna change
(I'll never be the same)

It's always do this, do that,
Everything they want to
I don't want to live that way
Every chance they get their always
Pushin me away

[Chorus:]
It's never enough
No it's never enough
No matter what I say

It's never enough
No it's never enough
I'll never be what you want me to be

It's all so messed up and no one ever listens
(Everyone's deranged)
I'm just so ****** up and I'm never gonna change
(Wanna lay it all to waste)

Their always say this, say that,
Nothing that you want to
I don't want to live that way
Every chance they get their always
Shovin me aside

[Chorus]

I'm Done

[Bridge:]
In the end we're all just chalklines on the concrete
Drawn only to be washed away
For the time that I've been given
I am what I am

I'd rather hate you
For everything you are
Than ever love you
For something you are not

I'd rather you hate me
For everything I am
Than have you love me
For something that I can't

It's never enough
It's never enough
No matter what I say

It's never enough
No it's never enough
No matter who I try to be

It's never enough
No it's never enough
No matter how I try to taste

It's never enough
Never never enough
I'll never be what you want me to be.

"Touch Me"

Yeah!, come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Cant you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why wont you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?
Now, Im gonna love you, till the heavens stop the rain
Im gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and i
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Cant you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why wont you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?
Im gonna love you, till the heavens stop the rain
Im gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and i
Im gonna love you, till the heavens stop the rain
Im gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and i

Hopefully I edited out the foul language.

To save this thread from Nate's crazy sense of humor, here's another great song:
Song: "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne
I'm standing on a bridge
I'm waiting in the dark
I thought that you'd be here by now
There's nothing but the rain
No footsteps on the ground
I'm listening but there's no sound

Isn't anyone tryin to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
It's a **** cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

I'm looking for a place
I'm searching for a face
Is anybody here I know
'Cause nothing's going right
And everything's a mess
And no one likes to be alone

Isn't anyone trying to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
It's a **** cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

Oh why is everything so confusing
Maybe I'm just out of my mind
Yea yea yea

It's a **** cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

Take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

Take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you
I'm with you...

Actually, I think that Nate saved this thread just now.

Or at least protected it from being able to lose what awesomeness it has to offer.

Salvation - Alice Cooper

Beautiful, amazing song which brings home the true point of salvation.

Voices - Disturbed

In this song and the accompanying music video, a white collar worker who gets bullied around fantasizes about torturing and killing his co-workers as a voice, presumably Satan, tries to tempt him into carrying out his fantasies for real. As someone who has struggled with very strong feelings of low self esteem and hatred in the past, the song is a very accurate depiction of the emotions I once went through.

The Man That You Fear - Marilyn Manson

In the video, Manson parodies his death by an angry mob in a symbolic parallel to Christ's death. Manson portrays how he has grown up from a boy whom everyone loved to a man everyone came to fear, and the angry mob symbolizes the religious groups who hate them. Manson seems to be trying to make the point that Christ was also a boy whom everyone loved and then grew up to be a revolutionary whom everyone feared, and the Pharisees plotted to kill him. The video ends as the mob is about to stone him, and I believe he meant this to represent hypocrisy. ("Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.") I thought it was an interesting, artful look at irony, self-righteousness and hypocrisy. I also found it a sad reminder that as Christians, we spend so much time attacking the "evils" of the world rather and we make ourselves look to the world like a mob of religious hatemongerers rather than ambassadors of Christ's agape love.

I Am The Scatman - John Scatman

Discusses not letting obstacles getting in the way of your dreams. The singer speaks from personal experience, as he struggled with a severe stutter all his life, yet went on to become a world famous singer.

Science - System of a Down

Criticizes how science is used as a means of denying the existence of spiritual things.

Catchafire - Toby Mac

Is about becoming stagnate in our relationship with God and trying to rekindle our fire.

Atmosphere - Toby Mac

From God's point of view, on how he provides comfort for us even during the worst times of our life, and how he is always there for us. This song has ministered to me personally as several hard points in my life.

White and Nerdy - Weird Al Yankovic

The story of my life.

This song helped me through an incredibly difficult week that kind of became a turning point in my life, now that I look back. That week, I changed the way I looked at life. This song still holds the story of my life.

"Scream" by ZOEgirl

Does anybody know how I feel?
Sometimes I'm numb
Sometimes I'm overcome
Does anybody care what's going on?
Do I have to wear my scars
Like a badge on my arm
For you to see me?
I need release

Do I have to scream for you to hear me?
Do I have to bleed for you to see me?
'Cause I grieve
You're not listening to me
Do I need to scream?

Has anybody seen what's been done?
Where was my defense?
No one heard my protest
The eyes of God were watching me
It's time to make my peace
Let it go and be released
So I can breathe again
I'm on my knees

Do I have to scream for you to hear me?
Do I have to bleed for you to see me?
'Cause I grieve
You're not listening to me
Do I need to scream?

I've been marked, set apart
But I'm cut so deep and afraid of the dark
One drop of blood from the hole in Your hand
Is enough to heal me and make me stand

'Cause I'm clean, He is listening to me

I don't have to scream for Him to hear me
Don't have to bleed for Him to see me
'Cause I'm clean
He is listening to me
I don't have to scream
I don't have to bleed
'Cause I'm clean
He is listening
And I don't have to scream

And, ironically, I recently realized that this Irish folk song says exactly the way I feel about my perpetual, incurable homesickness. 'Carrickfergus' would stand for the name of my home.

"Carrickfergus"

I wish I was in Carrickfergus
Only for nights in Ballygrand
I would swim over the deepest ocean
The deepest ocean for my love to find

But the sea is wide and I cannot swim over
Neither have I the wings to fly
If I could find me a handsome boatman
To ferry me over to my love and die

My childhood days bring back sad reflections
Of happy times spent so long ago
My childhood friends and my own relations
Have all passed on now like melting snow

But I'll spend my days in endless roaming
Soft is the grass, my bed is free
Ah, to be back now in Carrickfergus
On that long road down to the sea

I'll spend my days in endless roaming
Soft is the grass, my bed is free
But I am sick now, and my days are numbered
Come all you young men and lay me down
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.
- Ellone, Final Fantasy VIII

It is not depression, it is realism.

"From Crib to Coffin" by Emery

I used to be a better man.
But the regret came, and here I am.
I used to walk outside my door.
But I don't go outside anymore

When will they carry me to my grave?
So I can pay for the things my hands have made.
Two sons will take my body
and place it in the ground.
And I hope they know to be nothing like me.

My Blood is tainted with bitterness.
I want it out, I want it out of me.
Oh, the taste of my inheritance.
How I have fallen, the hills will cover me.

...

But you are taken care of, there is always television.
Where an Eidolon, named night, on a black throne reigns upright.

This song speaks to me about my own rampant imagination.

"Imaginary" by Evanescence

I linger in the doorway
Of alarm clock screaming
Monsters calling my name
Let me stay
Where the wind will whisper to me
Where the raindrops, as they're falling, tell a story

In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me

Don't say I'm out of touch
With this rampant chaos - your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare I built my own world to escape

In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me

Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
Oh, how I long for the deep sleep dreaming
The goddess of imaginary light

In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

All Around Me-Flyleaf.
Lryics:
My hands are searching for you,
My arms are outstretched towards you,
I feel you on my fingertips,
My tongue dances behind my lips for you.

This fire rising through my being,
Burning, I'm not used to seeing you.

I'm alive!
I'm alive!

I can feel you all around me,
Thickening the air I'm breathing,
Holding on to what I'm feeling,
Savoring this heart that's healing.

My hands float up above me,
And you whisper you love me,
And I begin to fade
Into our secret place.

The music makes me sway,
The angels singing say,
"We are alone with you."
I am alone, and they are too with you.

I'm alive!
I'm alive!

I can feel you all around me,
Thickening the air I'm breathing,
Holding on to what I'm feeling,
Savoring this heart that's healing.

And so I cry,
The light is white,
And I see you...

I'm alive! (I'm alive)
I'm alive! (I'm alive!)
I'm alive!

I can feel you all around me,
Thickening the air I'm breathing,
Holding on to what I'm feeling,
Savoring this heart that's healing.

Take my hand, I give it to you,
Now you own me, all I am.
You said you would never leave me,
I believe you, I believe.

I can feel you all around me,
Thickening the air I'm breathing,
Holding on to what I'm feeling,
Savoring this heart that's healed.

Bring Me To Life-Evanescence.
Lyrics:
ow can you see into my eyes like open doors
Leading you down into my core
Where I've become so numb
Without a soul
My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up) Wake me up inside
(I can't wake up) Wake me up inside
(Save me) Call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up) Bid my blood to run
(I can't wake up) Before I come undone
(Save me) Save me from the nothing I've become

Now that I know what I'm without
You can't just leave me
Breathe into me and make me real
Bring me to life

(Wake me up) Wake me up inside
(I can't wake up) Wake me up inside
(Save me) Call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up) Bid my blood to run
(I can't wake up) Before I come undone
(Save me) Save me from the nothing I've become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie
There's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

Frozen inside without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you are the life among the dead

(All this time, I can't believe I couldn't see
Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me)
I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems
Got to open my eyes to everything

(Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul)
Don't let me die here
(There must be something more)
Bring me to life

(Wake me up) Wake me up inside
(I can't wake up) Wake me up inside
(Save me) Call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up) Bid my blood to run
(I can't wake up) Before I come undone
(Save me) Save me from the nothing I've become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie
There's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

"Say Anything" by Good Charlotte

Here I am on
The phone again and
Awkward silences
On the other end

I used to know the sound
Of a smile
In your voice
But right now
All I feel
Is the pain of the fighting
Starting up again

All the things we talk about
You know they stay on my mind
On my mind
All the things we laugh about
They'll bring us through it every time
After time, after time

Don't say a word
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away
I know you want to stay
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything

Some say that
Time changes
Best friends can
Become strangers
But I don't want that
No, not for you
If you just stay with me
We can make it through

So here we are again
Same old argument
And now I'm wondering
If things'll ever change, yeah
When will you laugh again?
Laugh like you did back when
We made noise till 3 a.m.
And the neighbors would complain

All the things we talk about
You know they stay on my mind
On my mind
All the things we laugh about
They'll bring us through it every time
After time, after time

Don't say a word
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away
I know you want to stay
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything

I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin' down
I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin' down
Down, down, down

Don't say a word
I know you feel the same
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
Please don't walk away
I know you want to stay
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything

(Please) Don't say a word
I know you feel the same (don't leave)
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything
(Please) Please don't walk away
I know you want to stay (don't leave)
Just give me a sign
Say anything, say anything

Song: By Your Side
Artist: Tenth Avenue North

Why are you striving, In these days?
Why are you trying, To earn grace?
Why are you crying?, Let me lift up your face
Just don't turn away

Why are you looking,For love?
Why are you still searching, As if I'm not enough?
To where will you go child? Tell me where will you run?
To where will you run?

Chorus-
Cause I'll be by your side, wherever you fall
In dead of night, whenever you fall
And please don't fight these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

Look at these hands, and my side
They swallowed the grave, on that night
When I drank the world's sin, so I could carry you in
And give you life
I wanna give you life

-chorus x2-
Cause I, I love you!
I want you, to know
That I, I love you!
I'll never let you go!
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. I appointed you to be a prophet of all nations."
--Jeremiah 1:5

A recent acquisition, I've discovered this song sounds a lot like me in my worst moments.

"Cut" by Plumb

I'm not a stranger
No, I am yours
With crippled anger
And tears that still drip sore
A fragile flame etched
With misery
And when our eyes meet
I know you see

I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists; I find it when
I am cut

I may seem crazy
Or painfully shy
And these scars wouldn't be so hidden
If you would just look me in the eye
I feel alone here and cold here
Oh, I don't want to die
But the only anesthetic that makes me feel anything kills inside

I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists; I find it when
I am cut

Pain
I am not alone
I am not alone

I'm not a stranger
No, I am yours
With crippled anger
And tears that still drip sore

But I do not want to be afraid
I do not want to die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists; I found it when
I was cut
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

Ordinary- by Thousand Foot Krutch. This song got me through a though time when I was qustening my fath. This verse help me keep my fath:

Growin' up as an adolescent
So full of those questions
Got me second guessin'
My mind with the message
And the mention of my progression
Class is in session
How long will we all keep guessin?
When you've never been
It's so evident, from your grumbling
Man, I wonder when we'll talk
If you wanna talk
Take the mask off
We can rock
Shake it off, shake it off, shake it off
