Best Anime Con Themes

Attending Nekocon 15, the theme this year was Space Race, I was just wonder what anime cons others have attended that have had great themes for that years con?
Did the theme have a influence on the way people dressed or did things during the con?
During Nekocon 15 our mascots dressed in space type outfits along with a few cosplayers doing anime space series and we had the Star Wars 501 group.
At Otakon this year they had a cooking theme. There were a few cosplayers as cooks, waiters and other food related things.
