Dango!

So, I'm gonna try to make dango.... again. The first time I made it, it tasted awful 'cause I didn't have the right type of rice flour. The second time wasn't as bad, but still didn't turn out great. Now I found an actual video on how to make it. If it doesn't turn out right this time, I think I'll try making a different japanese snack.

What type of dango are you trying to make? I had
this kind and actually, it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. I don't think I'd eat it again if I got the chance...
What video are you planning on following? Care to share? Maybe the multicolored kind tastes different...

I'd love to know, too. I would love to try, but getting rice flour in my area... yeah. Not gonna happen. But I would give it a try if I could!

I'd make a reference to Clannad here, but I can't as my avatar is from Kanon...

I'm going to make mitarashi dango. Here's the video for the recipe I'm following.

[color="Plum"]I like to try some dango. I'm gonna try mitarashi sause first, then I'll try it with chocolate dip and strawberry perserves/jam. I especially like to try it with chocolate dip.

The second time I made dango, the dango itself turned out almost perfect. The problem was that the recipe called for sweet bean paste, not mitarashi sauce. That day, I found out that I don't like sweet bean paste. It has a weird sweet flavor combined with that earthy bean flavor.

But I like earthy beans!

Anko is freakin' tasty. :3
Also I've never had dango, but I do like daifuku. I actually have some rice flour and kept intending to make daifuku but it kind of intimidates me so I haven't done it yet. Need to crack down and do that sometime.

I looked at video on how to make strawberry daifuku, and I might like it. Anko with strawberries might taste good, actually.

Best of luck with making dango! It doesn't look too difficult, and the video is very informative and fun, and the step-by-step is well-organized.
I've never made dango, but I've made mochi before, and wetting everything with water is so important! My dad joked that next time we make mochi, he'll fill in the cracks in our sidewalk with it [it dries very hard and solid o_o].
Red bean paste is delicious, in my opinion. But it's not for everybody.
