Talk shows...oh boy.

Hello, I'm still new here...so I'm just going to jump right into it.
Is it just me, or does it seem like talk shows are really showing how stupid people are getting? I normally don't watch talk shows but whenever I do...it's really mind numbing.
Talk shows like Dr. Phil and Maury are the best examples. It's like, the people they have on these shows don't have any common sense. What really creeps me out, is when the host tries to push their one sided ideology on me.
Thank God that I have common sense!
I just wish everyone was blessed with it.

well, If I remember right, the reason people appear as if they don't have common sense is because they only look out for themselves and will not want to see the other side of the story because they do not want to admit they have commited sin and always want to be right.

I think most problems happen when familys don't communicate which other. that can lead to pretty bad consequnces.

I just hate how on Oprah, or Dr. Phil they'll be all
"What your doing wrong is this and this and this"
-person nodds away-
"And what you need to do is this and this"
-person keeps nodding like crazy, and throws in a couple "yes!!"s-
I HATE IT WHEN THE PERSON ON THE SHOW AGREES LIKE MAD WITH THE PERSON ANALYZING THEM.
I mean, if they KNEW what the were doing and how to fix it, why are they even on there?!?!
Gets my knickers in a knot, I tell ya.

Did anyone watch talk shows because the guests were really bright cookies in the first place?
Anyway, I hate Nancy Grace. A whole lot. I turned her show on once, during the South Ossetian war. What's she raving about? Some woman Nancy pretty much declared guilty the moment her daughter disappeared, ruining many potential juries in the process. Meanwhile, you've got the Russian military rolling roughshod over a former republic, the world economy's in the toilet, etc., etc. Ms. Grace is still talking about the same lady as far as I know (apart for a break to talk about Michael Jackson, of course). She makes me want to put a blunt object through my TV.

I like Colbert, he reminds me of a real life Daffy Duck. But I wouldn't put him in the talk show catagory...he's more of a news parody.

Well, Nancy Grace is an American legal commentator, so she going to comment on legal stuff not world news.

You just reminded me of that show Cheaters. But that show is even more messed up than talk shows. What's even sadder, is that I live close to where they film.

First of all SD, welcome to the nuthouse. Anyway I think that the reason why talk shows are so popular is that we like to see other people who are completely screwed up because it makes us feel better about ourselves and justify our actions. Well that's one reason at least.

I'm with you on this one. I'm tired of her hurling accusations at people before they're even considered a suspect. Even after they become a suspect, she's just always SO CONVINCED that it was this person for some reason or another.
And God help them if they're a previous sex offender, in her mind you can never ever be rehabilitated. If anything happens within fifty miles of a convicted sex offender IT WAS HIM AND JUSTICE SHOULD BE SERVED.
I also love sometimes she gets so into it, she'll go "I can't believe this person could do such a thing, I mean, POSSIBLY did such a thing." She's really just absolute scum.

'Cause man... There's totally hope of rehabilitating that relationship after you call up Cheaters.

Tell you the truth, I don't know how anyone can listen to Nancy Grace talk for one minute. Her voice is like nails on a chalk board.
Its just a whiny like voice and no where near the style of talk that people from Macon, Georgia talk at all.

I must have grown a tolerance to whiny voices or something, because I can listen to her without going (more) crazy. Then again, I don't really listen to her as much as I hear her in the background.

To me, her voice is like the icing on the cake of her annoying-ness: It isn't why she's annoying, but it helps cement her status as the most annoying (and therefore, my least favorite) talk show host on TV today.
