Hey, I'm a "refugee" from AA. As far as I can tell, the webmaster forgot to pay the domain fee. You go away for a week on a mission trip, and look what happens...

Here's hoping Keely/draw2much/whoever's running the place now pays up soon. Who knows? I might just end up sticking around here if stuff doesn't work out.

Well, let me take this time to welcome you to CAA. Hopefully AA will be back up at some point in the near future...but for the time being enjoy your stay here.

A couple friends and I have were wondering what was going on and how much progress they've made into getting it back up. Thanks for the link, Nadia.

I appreciate the well wishes, everyone -- except that there's nothing I can do on my end right now. The most I was able to do was to back up the database as soon as I got the bulk e-mail from Nicole (Draw2much) warning that the site might go down this week, which it seems that none of the other members got. (Of course, I had to get it because it was from my e-mail address to my e-mail address. ) But right now it doesn't help to have a database sitting on my computer with no functioning site address to restore it to (if necessary). :\

The best we can do now is wait patiently for Keely and Nicole to get things sorted out, and pray that the Lord's will be done concerning it. *goofs off in the meantime* XD

Thanks for starting the thread, Rocklobster -- and thanks for posting the link to the LJ emergency thingy (whatever that's called... XD; ), Nadia. I appreciate you both for doing that. ^_^

For the time being, we have a new address at http://animeangels.blogdns.net/. As far as I can tell, the site is still fully functioning (except that emotes won't show up in already-existing posts but we're not concerned about that), so feel free to pass the word around.

We're hoping that the new address is only temporary, though. To make a long story short, Nicole (Draw2much) had to release control over it and was hoping to buy it back up as a means of renewing it for another year. The trouble is, it's gone onto an auction -- and some other unknowns have been bidding on it, but the price has gone up more than Nicole can afford. (We think some pervert is trying to buy it out so he can turn it into a search engine, or a porn site or something equally sick. :\ )

I've volunteered to try to win it back before the auction is over this Sunday afternoon, and then transfer ownership back to Nicole. We could really use some prayer that the price doesn't get too high. Otherwise the address above might become our new permanent one.

Yes, what about asking all members for donations? Spread out like that, maybe the fee wouldn't be unbearable.

Good news: It looks like some of the other admins did some work behind the scenes, and I won't have to try to bid on the domain name to buy it back after all. They got back control of it, and now the original address is working again. ^o^// (But we'll have to do a bit of reconfiguring again before it's once again up to full functionality. XD; )
