I would just like to wish everyone here a very Happy All Saints' Day! I know this holiday is celebrated mostly by Catholics, but I still like to observe this day even though I'm a Protestant Christian. God bless you all! :thumb:

Yes! Happy All-Saints day! Is anyone else going to an all-saints day party? I am - I'm going as St. Joan of Arc (of course!) She's the best.

It's late and I'm tired, I'll try to post something tomorrow (All Soul's Day) to explain. Anyways, the best to everyone on these days.

For those who are curious, a Holy Day of Obligation is a day in which Catholics are obliged to attend mass, and to refrain from "servile work". In practice however, this is often not possible given the demands of modern life here in the US and Canada (countries where Catholicism predominates may differ in what are considered statutory holidays). Instead, permission is usually given for the feast to be observed on Sundays, although there are certain events that cannot be deferred (e.g. Christmas).

Interesting. There was a church I used to go to that celebrated All Saints Day, although they weren't actually Catholic.
