Just reading through my Anime Invasion, and Cowboy Bebop (action) and Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask (RPG) will be coming out around Novemeber this year. From the screenshots, Bebop has cartoony looking grahics and Inuyasha uses some anime pics and 3-d chibis^^ And it has new characters only for the game. *waits for the Inu game*

i REALLY hope the cowboy bebop game lives up to the greatness of the series. i hate it when something based on a series doesn't live up to the hype... (final fantasy: the spirits within)

Too bad they won't come out with an English Kenshin game. I love RPGs and I'm getting Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenyaku Romantan: Juuyuushi Inbou Hen. Otherwise, Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swords Romantic Story: The Plotting of Ten Brave Swordsman.

Well the track record of most videogames based on anime is not too great. With the exception of the Ghost in the Shell Playstation game, but that's the only one I can think of.
Anyway if it's one game that can be truly great it's the Cowboy Bebop one. The cel-shaded graphics look good and the action looks like it mimics the show's. The thing's that worry me are that it might be become too monotonous and turn into a mindless brawlfest. I haven't researched a ton about it and I don't know who is doing the story I just hope it will live up to the series.

Well actually, the record is pretty big.... but, since we don't have a huge franchise of most of those games in North America, they don't release 'em. The Magic Knight Rayearth game I think was translated and came out on Sega Saturn, but that's about it for uncommon anime games.
But yeah, there's tons of anime games from Cardcaptor Sakura to Slayers to Tenchi to Chobits action/RPGs for gaming systems.... they just.... never made it over here :/

Oh I know there are plenty of anime videogames. I think your misunderstanding what I meant, I'm talking about the track record as far as quality goes.
Most anime videogames are average at best. The majority of them have just been cash cows.

Well I do agree with that. I've played quite a few Japanese aniem games and most are just ".....what was that?" (If you've ever played the Chobits games for GBA, you'd know what I mean). I did beat the Chobits game but wow.... some of the RPGs are just a little odd, and you don't have freedom to even PLAY much!

(I like the Hamtaro RPG. It's fun. VERY CHALLENGING!)

Yeah there were two on Playstation though they never made it stateside. They were some kind of generic fighting game and an RPG. From what I've read though they weren't very good. Don't remember if there were any Kenshin games on another system can someone clarify?
