Could this Chrono Trigger revivel be a new story? Or are they gonna release it enhanced and redone or just the same as when it was released on ps1

:eyebrow: Interesting... is it a remake? Could be.... or a 3-d version... ,but I'd rather play mine on the SNES or get a PS one with all the rest of the Final Fantasy games before I shell out a big bucks for a PSP.

Most likely a port. I WILL BE VERY UPSET if they make a sequel that ISN'T released on the PS2 or GC. Because I really have no intention of blowing my money on an SP for games I can already buy cheaper and play in their full-screen glory.

I still up-to-this date am upset that Square completely forgot about their OTHER great series. C'mon where is FF Tactics 2, Einhander 2, Vagrant Story 2, or a third Chrono game. It just plain out irritates me they run out that cash cow: Final Fantasy to death.

Um...I checked the link but there was no information at all...if it's simply just a straight port of the SNES classic, then I don't know if it's worth it. But if by any chance it's a side game or better yet a follow-up to CT, I'm there for sure yo! But really, what are the chances of that happening and like Azier said--what's the point. We demand it on PS2 in full-screen glory.

Maybe they're waiting for the next-gen consoles to resurrect those titles hmm?

Edit: Chrono Cross rocks! Too bad I've lost my old PS1 memory cards or I could still play it on my PSX. The PS2 TV is always in use. Grr. So off-topic

If you lost your memory card, you can't play it on there anyhow... The PS1 games can't read off the PS2 card even if you're playing on the PS2...

BTW, there was a FFT2... It's called "Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced"

Um... I hope it is a sequal...

No.. thats something different, thats a fan-remake of Chrono Trigger, unlicenced by SquareEnix, what I linked to is actually being made by SquareEnix.

I don't have much information on the PSP game, so I can't really make a statement. Other than to say that I liked Chrono Trigger.

As for the second game linked to... I think that would be truly awesome, but most games of that sort fizzle out. If it does come into true being (and is good) I definitely would like to play it.

Whoa, Whoa, now that is spiffy! I hope they don't lose interest and drop the project.... but, I believe they've been working on it since 2000. Anyways, I could care less about the PSP version, now. Thanks for the link glitch!

Glancing at the second game linked to... I read something to the effect of redoing the "10 best scenes." Is this a minor point, or is that actually all of their scope? If so, I'd be severely dissapointed.

Sadly, the entire project is Demo of the 10 best moments in Chrono Trigger. Still, it's pretty cool and these are professional game makers (I think for Ubisoft). They don't have the man power to make the entire game nor is it legal. I wish Square would go and hire them... but, that won't happen.

That is what I thought it said. How unfortunate. While we are on the topic, does anyone have any thoughts as to what those ten scenes are? I think the battle with Magus and the final battle with Lavos are both shoe-ins, and we've seen what appears to be the original scene. Also, perhaps, when Crono comes back to life.
Hmmmm. Probably when Chrono gets killed in the first place and Schala teleports Chrono's friends & Magus to safety.
And some of the scenes where the characters get introduced, perhaps...
Those are important scenes.

I agree, MasterDias, that will probably also be present. Our list so far is:
1. Final Battle with Lavos
2. Battle with Magus
3. Crono Dies
4. Crono Returns

Character introductions?
Can anyone else think of anything that they would probably do?

Also probably true. That was a good moment, and had some decent music. Furthermore, some of the people have interesting things to say during that event (depending on who is on your team).

Gah this is the third freaking time I've tried to post, and CAA keeps going down! GAAAAAH! Anyhow, I'm saving my message this time before I send... (I'm in the process of writing this... Gah!

Okay, point 1. I hope it's a sequal... I want to see a continuation of Chrono Cross, and before you say it, CT and CC were connected.
Schala is the connection that is throughout CT and CC... In Fact, I am guessing that she's responsible for the portals in CT. At the end of CC, when you free Schala from the Time Devourer, you see her wandering the streets of another city, and it's real people now... I think you even see a city. I wonder if that's our Earth. I would be very happy if the new game took place on our Earth, and it wrapped up her story (CC also wrapped up Lucca's story, and a game on SNES called Radical dreamers that never got released wrapped up Magus' story... He is the guy in white with the mask)
I hope that you find out what happens, and I think a trilogy would be great setup... It doesn't have to go forever. It would be great to have it be on Earth, and to connect all the games and wrap up that story that I spoilerized...
There was a game that wrapped up Magus' story? Radical Dreamers, eh? Was this never released, or simply never released in the US?
Never in the US... It's also really hard to find in ROM form, probably impossible in cartridge form, and there isn't a full translation for it yet... It's a storybook game, I think... It is a pre-telling of a couple scenes in CC, but it changed a bit by the time.
By the end, the guy from CC with the white suit, light purple hair, mask, and staff reveals himself to be Magus. Chrono Cross is essentially an expansion of this story, though they never as much as admitted that guy was magus in CC, though the clues were definately there... I can't believe I don't remember his name in CC...

Guile...His name is Guile, if I remember right. That's interesting. Guile is one of the more mysterious characters in Chrono Cross, although probably only about half a dozen playable characters in that game actually had anything to do with the story.
I always found it curious that Magus/Janus was only mentioned once in the the entire story, in Lucca's letter to Kid, when the whole story centered on Schala.

I do remember that Radical Dreamers was referenced once in Chrono Cross...
On a computer console somewhere, I don't remember exactly, some brief dialogue is spoken, that came from Radical Dreamers....

There really should be another Chrono game made. Chrono Cross left many questions unanswered.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I did hear that one of the Chrono series' primary creators left Square or something.
You speak as if you have played Radical Dreamers (which would mean via ROM). Have you, or are you speaking from sources? If either of you has it, I'd like to get my hands on it...

I am speaking from other sources... A CC faq explained the story of Radical Dreamers, and I guessed the thing about [button=spoiler]Magus and Guile[/button] before I even knew that Radical Dreamers confirmed my suspicions... I mean, there are too many hints even in CC, but I have no reason to doubt that this happened... It was a walkthrough for CC, so it's not like they're going to just pull tha out of the air... You never know, I guess. Of course, a few things were changed between RD and CC, but I dont' think that fact did... They just never openly admit it and chose to focus more on Serge and Kid.

Good luck finding a rom... Very hard to find one that even claims to be radical dreamers, and 9 times out of 10, it will probably be corrupt... Of course, the satelite system did have some quirks, so the BS games don't always work right on SNES emulators... If you find it, and if they have finally finished the translation, you should tell me...

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/file/radical_dreamers_story.txt

Here is the story... This isn't what I looked at first... The one I looked at didn't have near this amount of information... It says that Radical Dreamers can't be considered canon... Also, it appears I was pretty far off... I still say what I say about you know who and that's all there is to it. ^_^ I guess they left it a mystery on purpose, to be argued...
