Action RPGs

Does anyone play action RPGs as a default genre choice?

If so, what do you play? I am currently playing Torchlight 2.

Reason I play action RPGs is because my work requires a lot of thinking and multitasking, and I don't have a lot of spare time when I am at home... so I just play games that I don't have to think very hard about, and can play for only 20 minutes if I have to.

I would say that action RPGs are one of my favorite genres...depending on what your definition of the genre is. The only one I can definitely say is an action RPG that I love without getting laughed down by someone would be Nox, a Diablo rip-off that I think is actually better than its derivative. Just for the feel of the world, and the joy of playing it.

How do you define action RPGs?

My definition of action RPGs is that they have the following characteristics:

- Emphasis on real-time, enemy-slaying action with different types of weapons
- Different class types of characters to choose from, whether explicitly or implicitly through skill selection
- Expansive list of skill options
- Emphasis on acquiring loot to better your character
- Not always, but typically very light on story with the focus being on action

One of my favourites is Titan Quest (with the Immortal Throne expansion)

I just looked up the entry for Nox, looks interesting but don't have much time for multiple games right now. :)

Kingdom Hearts is considered a Action RPG and it is my favorite game series.

Oooh, thought of a couple games that could be considered unconventional action RPGs for the DS - Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and The World Ends with You.
