Thoughts, discussions, etc. etc.

I'm interested to see how this develops.

Wow, they actually picked black and white--not lavender cream, not chartreuse essence, or burnt sienna. I'd sworn off buying anymore pokemon games, but I might have to keep any eye on this.

Yeah, the choice of black and white is interesting, especially in the absence of any other information. Also, this will make it the third DS Pokemon game. It might be because of the recency of the North American release of HG/SS, but this seems awfully tight for the announcement and imminent release of another game.

My sister metioned at a con (was it AWA?) that Pikabella (or whatever her name is) said that Nintendo might be making a game where you play as Team Rocket (but I think that's fairly common knowledge). It would be interesting if this was a remake of Red and Green (or Blue) and the white cartridge you play as good guys, the black cartridge you play as bad guys.

I have always harbored the hope that one of the new Pokemon games would be named Pokemon Black and present a dark and twisted take on the general world. It would start with Team Whatever It Is This Time blowing up a major Gym with a suicide bomber (Electrode used Explosion! It's super-effective!). Pokemon would faint, then die from blood loss. In addition to Repels and Potions you could use guns. Etc.

Not seriously. But I do want to hear a commercial that ends with a guy trying desperately to sound hardcore while saying, "Pokemon, rated M for Mature!"

Taking bets that these games will be renamed for America.

Though I do find it a bit surprising that these will be for the DS instead of the 3DS.

I always find it funny when people forget the date that information like this comes out. Guys, it's called April Fool's for a reason!

Lol. This means that the names of the main characters in the 10th story arc of Pokemon Special are going to be White and Black. I wonder which one will be the girl. Now its time to start speculating on what the 3rd game of the 5th generation will be called. Grey?

Other than that...*sigh* I was kind of hoping DPP would be the last generation, just because I want the darn anime to end already!!!!! But I guess this means another 3+ years of Ash, Brock, and New girl collecting badges and ribbons in the next region. *shoots Brock*

If Pokemon ended in D/P/PL I would not be a happy camper.

That gen kinda sucked.

EXCITEMENT! Now I have an excuse to lock myself in a room so I remain un-spoiler'd 'til it comes out and I play it.

I dunno. I think Ash may be on his way out. Ash has shown a level of actual competence in the Sinnoh region. Heck, he's on his way to getting a freaking uber level Pokemon, Garchomp. It's a marked change from his usual Pokemon roster, which consists of "If it's strong, let it free or give it to Professor Oak. If it's weak, keep it." He actually may have a shot at beating the Elite Four in this arc...FOR ONCE. And if he does, I can't see him being the star anymore because honestly, how can you go from Pokemon League Champion to being beaten by a weak random trainer in the new region? Since that's always what happens every time he goes to a new region.

Personally, I'm kind of sad. As everyone knows, stuff like that has to end eventually! (*cries*) I was hoping Black and White would be the finally for Pokemon. Able to do something like travel to all of the regions and collect all the legendary Pokemon. I guess not. Anyway thought! I can't wait to get the new dark type legendary that's starring in the game! The National Pokedex just keeps getting bigger, it's scary... T_T 15 years from now (If I'm still playing Pokemon) It's going to be in the thousands!

Someone at Game Freak's been playing Ikaruga, I see.

It's a shame they've given up on using mineral names to name Pokemon games; I would've totally bought Pokemon Anorthite (as opposed to Pokemon Albite, of course).

Yeah, and they have been foreshadowing it a lot. A recent DP episode had Bertha from the elite 4 telling him that "cynthia is waiting for a challenger" or something like that.

The only problem is...Ash still has one more badge to get, and then there's the league. Its estimated that they won't be done with the tournament until July at the earliest, possibly even August or early September, depending on how long it takes him to get the Beacon Badge and how many training episodes they fit in. That doesn't leave very much time for an Elite 4 challenge before the new games come out (and you know they're going to want the anime to head to the new region at around the same time). And I honestly would be surprised if he did win. He has to beat 4 ultra powerful trainers AND Cynthia, and so far he's barely held his own against any of the members he's challenged. My prediction is that he'll win the league and beat the Elite 4, but will lose to Cynthia. That will give him an insintive to travel to the 5th gen region and take on another quest, to earn another shot at the Champion League. And maybe *then* he'll finally leave.

I'm a bit dissapointed that the anime will be switching over to the new gen so soon. I was really hoping for another Battle Frontier arc to the anime. As it stands, we'll probably never see the DP or HGSS Frontier Brains in the anime, or get to see Ash have a re-match with the Tower Tycoon.

The game definitely looks promising, but I am lately falling out of the Pokemon series. It looks fun, but I am going to pass on Black and White.

What about Ivory and Ebony? XD
Actually, I haven't played these games since Silver, because I can't afford a DS or anything like that...and I don't have time to play.

However, I do think its interesting to see the worlds in semi-3D how many gens has that been happening? XD
