a deeply obscure 1987 release called Stadium Events, a highly sought-after collectors' item.

Amazing. There were only a handful of these made and sold for test marketing.. I think one went on sale a year ago, too.

Edit: Upon further research: Yeah, one sold last year going for nearly 200 dollars. The reason for the price difference was the national format. Last year's was a more common PAL version and the one that just recently sold was NTSC. I remember playing a game remarkably like this at a girl's house when I was very little, but the difference was that it was on the Power Pad which was a technology adopted from this game's controller. It was still a track and field game, but I suspect it was a wholly different game.

Roy, you had me thinking my NES lying on the floor here was worth more to me dead than alive. Thank goodness that is not the case.
