All clone characters. Not because I am adamantly against them (I'm not), but because a carbon copy of a preexisting move-set in the same game is pretty useless in my book.

for SSBM, i find pichu to be a rather useless character.

While I may have a bias, as Pichu is one of my mains, I don't think Pichu is useless, perse. Disadvantaged in many ways, but there are plenty of talented players out there who can work around said disadvantages and put up a good fight. Example: Pichu's got a monster up-smash that can actually kill at a fairly low percent, and a decent set of aerial moves.

While I'm by no means of the belief that tiers are non-existant (pit a Bowser and a Fox player of equal levels against one another, chances are Fox, the higher tiered character, will win), I wouldn't particularly call any character useless for the reasons I stated above. For every character that people call 'useless', there's a good number of players who could probably take said character and school you with them.

I would say "no characters" however if I had to choose any, I'd agree with Fish and say it's all of the clone characters. Fortunately this was more of a problem with SSBM then SSB and SSBB.While SSBB does have characters which could be considered clones, they aren't exactly the same as their counterparts except for what felt like a few minor details like they were in SSBM.

Why is Mr. Game and Watch useless?

No character is useless. I've seen god-like players with characters that most people never touch. i.e. Ice Climbers, Pichu, Mr. Game and Watch, etc.

For a point of reference, Falco was my main man back in Melee. Or bird.

And clone characters are not useless really, just unnecessary. I do not find any Smash Brothers character all that "Useless" because that would demand I take the game a lot more seriously than I do.

Though I do hate Marth. Badly.

To save this thread from failure, I will attempt to answer as best I can.

Kirby - He was a god in the original Smash Bros. Then they nerfed him in Melee, HARD. He got a bit better in Brawl but he's still overall not very good.

Jigglypuff - Now before anyone says anything, Jigglypuff was unbelievably useful in the original and in Melee. But they nerfed her (him?) in Brawl, and so Jigglypuff isn't very good anymore. Rest lost a LOT of its launching power, which was the number one thing Jigglypuff had going for her.

Most useless Smash Brothers character? While I would be loathe to deride his noble ways, perhaps we may consider this fellow, Link's uncle!

Megaman. Try to win a match with him. Just try.

Those two aren't even in the game, guys!

That said, I always found the Ice Climbers annoying to use because of the whole "lose your parter" thing. Useless? No; I'm sure there are people who are unreasonably good with them. Irritating? Yeah.

Even though I have a blast playing as him, and I'm sure he is an incredibly useful player to someone who is skilled with him, I find Captain Olimar to be the most useless character to myself personally. Using his pikmin to attack is just too complicated for my low intelligence level. -.-;;

Yeah, that's true. I'd rather not have this get lost among the others there, so let's try to keep things relatively on topic. On topic is not necessarily equal to serious, but reconsider posts before making them.

Well, I think this should be more geared towards, " I am most useless in SSB with this ((Characters name))" That being said, I am very useless when it comes to using Olimar in the new SSBB for the wii. Though some claim on wiichat.com he is something to actually check out and use as a Main.
For SSBB I use Ike and Marth. Sometimes Fox.

But, I've seen some people online, that used characters that seem useless in a powerful way. So, I don't know which ones are useless.

For SSBB, idk...haven't played enough, but I was horrible w/ Sonic and it didn't feel like someone I could easily get the hang of.

For SSBM, I think I was decent w/ just about everyone. Never really used Pichu, but I don't really see any reason why I couldn't have. Falco was a tad annoying to use, I suppose.

Haha...I think Ice Climbers and Ness and useless. I've seen ppl totally obliterate with Ness though, but I can't use him...at all.

I've only played SSB for the nintendo64 and gamecube, so I can't say anything about brawl.

Well with sonic in BRAWL it's like he runs way to fast! But some people can control him I guess and stay on the actual platform. Don't ask me how they do it though.

I think I will stick with Ike. He seems to do me justice in most battles.

Diddy Kong. Except for his final smash the little bogger has no good smash moves. I have to say that he just plain stinks.

And I thought kirby was pretty good in melee, but they nerfed him so much in BRAWL. I hate that because kirby was my absolute favorite charecter in Smash Bros.

hmm...well i have to say i do best with picachu (i never spell his name right) and pit. but i suck at the game so my opinion prolly isn't the best hehe.

so far from playing i think peach is the most useless. but like i said..i'm not too experienced.

but the first time i ever played...i played as sonic. and i did horrible. hehe

Since I've already answered the main question on this thread I'll go ahead and answer the question brought up by Kingdom. King Deedee and Captain Olimar are the two main characters I am absolutely useless with. I'm also pretty useless with Sonic when I'm playing against more then one person. Which is odd considering the fact that Sonic is one of my mains and I put a considerable amount of time into trying to get decent with him (and yes I have gotten semi used to his running speed...).

I agree about the smash moves bit but he's far from useless. Especially if you learn his spikes and how to effectively use his monkey flip...granted he still won't be high tier but...meh...I still enjoy playing as him.

Ugh! I can't use jigglypuff to save me life. In SSBM when she/he uses that charge up thing where he/she starts spinning really fast and then he/she goes flying everywhere...I always go flying off the stage and die! And when someone tries to use jigglypuff against me, I can easily dodge him/her.

btw, does anyone know if Jigglypuff is a girl or guy? lol
