quickie poll: what should I play next?

With .hack//GU vol. 1 finished and vol. 2 without a release date yet, I'm wondering which game I should play next... I WOULD be playing Legend of Dragoon and finishing it, but I need a new copy since my disks are too scratched up to work anymore v_v I'd also finish Tactics which I was close to completing, but I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place on it (almost quite literally too^^) and the one battle just got on my nerves to try and complete :/ Therefore, I'm abandoning it a little longer^^

And since I'd rather beat more of my PS/2 games rather than work on my GBA and DS games (rather save those for when I'm in college, since they allow those but not exactly game systems you hook up to TVs), I've lowered it down to 2 choices: FFVIII or Dirge of Cerberus. Both which I'm looking forward to playing. 8's actually been sitting around on my "to play" pile for some time, but just haven't gotten around to it, but with pretty graphics and being a sequel, wanting to play Dirge too...

So, I'll only leave this poll open for only ONE day, and I'll have this be my decision (since I'm so bad with making them^^) on what to start playing tomorrow...

As an FFVIII fangirl, I have to say go for that one. XD I love that game to bits. And it was my first Final Fantasy. :D Anyways, yes, FFVIII ftw.

I'd say go with FFVIII. It's not my favorite FF game (near the bottom, actually), but it is loads better than DoC.

Should not always mess up titles with numbers. So a standhard FF + number should be enough.

Missed this the first time. Which battle is giving you trouble? My guess is the fight in Riovanes Castle with the one on one battle between Wiegraf and Ramza...that one is really tough. But which one is it?

I can't remember them all too well, but I'm assuming that one that you're guessing, is the one where those 2 are on one side of the castle wall, and everyone else is fighting on the other side? That one, I DID get through (thanks to a walkthrough and a tip to use a black chocobo to fly over there... even that took a bit, but I got through). Unless you mean the one (now that I just looked it up) where it's JUST those two, which I think is a battle or so away from where I am now...

The one I'm on is quite annoying: there's a short castle wall with an entrance in the middle. My team's on the outside and the other team is in the inside. From what I remember, there's a couple ninja out on the front lines and a couple of summoner's in the back by the castle, maybe some archers, and I think there might have been a white mage with a swordsman or so (can't remember that too well...) But yeah this was totally annoying^^ One thing I DO remember, is that since it involves ninjas, it was reccomended to use the catch ability, but I think mine was set to defend or something really useful like that.

FFVIII. To be honest, this was my first FF game, and I really loved it. Though I haven't played Dirge of Cerebrus, I have to highly recommend FFVIII. The storyline is really well done, the gameplay is fun, and I felt it had one of the most satisfying endings of a Final Fantasy game.

If you like a beautifully-designed RPG with a dynamic plot and excellent cast of characters with, in my opinion, the best soundtrack in a video game, purchase FFVIII.

If you want a money-milking mediocre shooting game designed for Vincent fangirls that stretched out the FFVII plot so far that it snapped, get DoC.

Me and Radical Dreamer seem to have similar opinions for RPGs. XD

10 - 2 I think it's safe to say who the winner is^^ (Somehow I assumed as much that it would lean that way...) Been wanting to play it for some time, but the 4-disk length and supposed "hard FF" had me leavign it sit while I play other games. Time to get into it next chance I get^^

Awesome! And hey, if you have any questions about the Junction system, just ask--it took me a while to get the hang of it, but it's actually pretty simple and very helpful in the long run. XD

Anyways, enjoy! :D
