your first RPG?

Well, all us RPGers had to start somewhere^^ Although I have a feeling most people will say that their first was a Final Fantasy from Super Nintendo or something like that (just a guess^^), for me, it was Pokemon Blue. Ok, well it's a little different than those type of RPGs. It was amusing going from Pokemon to FFVII though, and how I was all like "whoa, these have those either and elixer things too!". I still think it was even MORE amusing when I played so many SO many FFs and the like, that when I went back to my nostalgic Pokemon, I was honestly thinking "hey, where' the pheonix downs??" Sad, yes^^

So, what was the game that you started your RPG adventure on?

Hmm...I'm pretty sure it was Chrono Trigger. We didn't have any RPGs for the NES, but my brother knew how to get ROMs and such off the internet, and he introduced me to Chrono Trigger (by the way, I now own a legal (remake) copy. XD) when I was in about...5th or 6th grade. Man, that's such a great game. :D And yeah, I've been hooked ever since. XD

I fiddled with too many to count, not knowing what the genre was and not particularly caring for it. Final Fantasy VI was the first one I played seriously. Been hooked on them ever since.

I guess it would be KH, but if you don't count that it would be FFX. =]

My first was playing Final Fantasy IV on my good ol SNES. Then I played 6.

Well, the first I PLAYED was Pokemon: Red Version.

The first one I actually played through would have to be Final Fantasy X.

I didn't get into RPGs until 2003 and I'm not into it right now. I've been more into Sports and Shooting games for along time. Shooting as in Shoot-'Em-Ups, some FPSes and stealth.

I THINK it was Kingdom Hearts. I'm almost positive, but it seems like I've been playing RPGs for too long for that one to be my first... Hm.

Well, I was thinking straightforward, traditional, turnbased RPGs.

Kingdom Hearts got me into FF10 and FF10 got me into FF7 and before you knew it I played the whole series and got other RPGs.

So, if KH counts, that was my first.

Haha, me too. Except, I played FF8, then FF7 after KH.

Pokemon Red Version. my brother bought the game and he said he'd only let me play it if i learned how to read, since you sorta needed to know how to read to play the game. so, that motivated me to learn how to read and then i got to play it!!

Tunnels of Doom- a very old RPG written for the TI-99 4/A

I get to be odd man out and say Battletech: Crecent Hawks Inception. It's a really old computer one in the Battletech universe that I managed to get a hold of for our Apple IIc. It was pretty cool, but the ending was rather anticlimactic. The ending I didn't see until many years later upon discovering abandonware.

I think it was Beyond The Beyond...or perhaps it was Azure Dreams. There was also this dragon related rpg on the ps1 I loved....so those three I think were my first.

Now, of course, my favorite will always be Suikoden 2.

Shining Force 2, and it is still my favorite game of all of the games I have ever played to this day.

And once again...Pokemon Blue!! :D

I logged many a long hour on that thing. Ah...back in the days of the poke craze. I just thought it was kind of neat...wasn't until later that I found out it was actually popular. Q has always been behind the times. o.O

But I absolutely love FFIX and FFX. Never got to play the earlier ones...but those are awesome! I logged more than 100 hours on my 1st try at FFX.

It was probably either The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening or Final Fantasy Legend II. Even though the FF Legend games aren't actual Final Fantasy games, I'm still rather fond of them.

Super Mario RPG. I still love that game to this day. Unless LoZ counts; then it would be my first.

Pokemon Blue.

I was so hooked on that game as a preteen I barely touched or thought about anything else.

Eventually, a friend of mine introduced me to Ocarina of Time and Chrono Trigger.

When I was younger I didn't understand RPGs at all, so my first one wasn't until Skies of Arcadia: Legends on GameCube. Since then I've gotten hooked on RPGs.

You know, I have an amendment. It was probably Final Fantasy Legend on the Game Boy when I was about ten or so (which was actually part of the Romancing SaGa or something like that) but the first one I played where I was conciously enjoying an RPG was Shining Force 2 when I was about twelve.

Oh wait, are we counting Zelda games as RPGs? If that's the case, then my first was most definitely A Link to the Past. Chrono Trigger came shortly after that, but ALTTP was my first Zelda game. I've heard the Zelda series being called RPGs and Adventure though, so whatever. XD

I don't really consider Zelda games as RPGs. There are some similarities, but it lacks the core of what I consider a true RPG. Other opinions may vary.

But if we were considering games like Zelda RPGs, then technically, my very first RPG would have been Spiritual Warfare.
