a thread of pokemon

Postby jon_jinn » Mon Sep 04, 2006 2:50 pm

yep. that's right. POKEMON!!! anyways, this thread is for those pokemon video game players out there. i just want you guys to post your favorite pokemon party. post the pokemon, and their attacks and stuff. and if you could put which version it's from, that'd be VERY helpful. here's my party for ruby/sapphire/emerald/fire red/leaf gree (it's only three pokemon):

slaking - sweeper (equipped with choice span [1.5 x attack])
nature: jolly
attacks:
1. hyperbeam (because of physical strength, STAB, and choice span)
2. and 3. sub punch (cheap combo to use w/ slaking)
4. HP-psychic (maybe. for fighting and rock types)

suicune - balanced (equipped with quick claw [maybe. if neccessary])
nature: matters not to me
attacks:
1. mirror coat (a must need for suicune)
2. ice beam (for grass types)
3. calm mind (another must need)
4. either earthquake (not that useful really) or surf (for STAB)

crobat - annoyer (equipped with...bright powder. heh heh heh.)
nature: can't remember at the moment
attacks:
1. double team (raise evade + bright powder.)
2. confuse ray (confuse enemies. duh.)
3. sludge bomb (STAB and poison)
4. aerial ace (STAB and physical attack for those psychics out there)

yeah. my team's not that great. but i'll be making up more.

yeah. it's pretty fun to like be going through all your old stuff and suddenly, you find your old red or blue version and you're all like, "hey. i haven't played this game in ages." and then you start playing it again and you get really addicted and stuff.

hehe, for some reason, I really liked Absol. It was just so cool lookin'! So I attempted (partially as a joke) to create a whole team of elemental Absols, all with different moves, because they are versatile and can learn several electric, fire and water moves in addition to at least one flying and one psyhcic move. But, as soon as I bred all the Absols, I got tired of leveling up pokemon and well...

Golly, I miss Pokemon. I always associate this time of year with Pokemon, too, because it was around late summer/fall of my 7th grade year that I was really into it.

My favorite team was Charizard, Mewtwo, Venusaur, Zapdos, Scyther, and...I can't remember what the last one I used to use was.

Your team is awesome. If anyone ever tells you Pokemon is dumb or for little kids, well, don't punch them in the face or anything but definitely ignore them and keep on playing.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

The show might be, but the games certaintly are not (neither are the manga series, which were sometimes pretty cool).

I remember when I Red and did the Cinnabar cheat one time. Ended up catching myself a Lv. 132 Mewtwo and later had my whole party (Lv. 100s) killed by a 132 Snorlax. o_o

anyways, i agree with you but i don't really have to worry about any of my friends saying that pokemon's dumb since most of them are extremely hard core pokemon (video game) gamers. the type that do all this crazy stuff just to get that certain pokemon.
