I doubt we'll ever see Nintendo porting any of their games to any other hardware except their own. That's always how it's been. (I'm not so sure about other companies' works, though.)

The up side is that Rare is now owned by Microsoft (or contracted with them at least), so any of their own stuff can make it's way to the XBox.

There was rumor at some point that Nintendo was going to go the way of Sega and walk hand-in-hand with MS, but I think with Nintendo's talks of a next-gen machine to come after the GC, that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Best you might be able to hope for is if someone can figure a way to hack-n-burn a DVD for the XBox with a game emulator and old ROMs from the older systems (similar to what is being done legally with the old Atari, Activision, and Intellevision titles).

Not ANY... A lot of Rare's stuff is owned by Nintendo and NOT by rare... Rare was considered a "second party" developer because they were just an extension of Nintendo to release things only for nintendo... They broke off later, though, but they can't take Nintendo's copyrights with them

Actually, I think they actually own the copyrights to most of their stuff (i'll have to look and see if I can verify that).

The DK and Starfox franchises are owned by Nintendo, everything else I'm sure Rare holds the copyrights for (aside from Bond which is MGM or something).

I'll re-post if I find anything more solid later, but I know they already have Concker on the slab for porting over to the XBox (with live support, higher resolution textures, etc).

I'll look around and make sure i'm not talking out my butt :D

Ok, I did some looking around on the 'net. Unfortunately the offical press release has been removed from the official XBOx web site, though I'm not sure if it had the whole story in it (if it's the same press release that was re-printed at many news services).

Perfect Dark, the Banjo franchise, Conker, Blast Corps, and Jet Force Gemini are all supposed to have come along with the the sale of Rare (or buyout).

Personally I'd like to see a new JFG games, that N64 one rocked!

The real question is this: will Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic come to PS2? It should.

<Dino Crisis - moves from PS to Xbox>

Noooooo! I love Dino Crisis! I think all future Dead or Alive games will be on the X-Box. If you like that sort of thing.

.hack probably won't be ported for the simple reason that the people who make Rpgs and the very heavily anime influenced games usually favor Sony's consoles.

Wouldn't that be circular logic?

I mean.... people buy PS2 because the Anime RPGs are on the PS2. They write Anime RPGs for the PS2 because the fans own PS2s. Anime RPG fans buy PS2s because they are on the PS2... etc.

Alas... till someone takes a chance and ports/writes one for the XBox that is the way it will stay (supply/demand thingie).
