The Advance Wars Thread

Hey all! Discuss anything Advance Wars related here. Favorite CO's, Favorite CO Powers Design Maps you have created...anything!

To start off, I like using Eagle, Drake, Jess, Kanbei and Sonja. My favorite CO powers would have to be Lightning Strike, Counter Break, Typhoon, Overdrive and Victory March (who wouldn't like to capture properties in one turn  ).

I wish I could get Advance Wars: Dual Strike...but I don't have a DS :( .

Hey Wild Eagle, you should totally check out Advance Wars By Web (shameless promo). Though its down today, its a great place to play Advance Wars games online. ^_~

As for me, Sami is my all time favorite CO. But Sensei and Colin are close behind. I like Grit, but his stall-and-amass-artilery-at-chokepoint techniques just arent my style.

As for powers. Eagles SCO power is definately one of the best... but it takes FOREVER to work up. Not to mention his normal CO power is rather unimpressive.

All of Sami's powers and abilities are just great. Great infantry with normal artillery support. Toss in her extra movement for APC (and such) and you already have a great CO with out her powers. And I cant tell you how many times that SCO power of hers has turned a game for me (and some times flat-out won when I really should have lost).

Sensei is my second because... well, who else has 150% infantry, mechs and Bcopters? (pluse extra movement for APC and such again). Not to mention both of his powers gain you extra infantry units, the most important and versitile units in the game. Excelent on maps with a Huge number of cities or small maps where the primary units you will be using are infantry.

Lastly, there is that little Blue Moon rapscallion Colin... Colin has got to be one of the absolute cheasiest characterse in the entire game. Far better then Hachi IMO. Not only is his COpower commulative, his SCO power can dish out insane dammage when the funds are available. Great on just about any diverse map. Gets bogged down on maps that catter to one CO or another. (such as wide open Max-happy maps, or bottlenecked Gritt-heaven maps). The best part? He is versitile in his unit selection, and more often then not, will have more units then your oponent can shoot at.

Colin and I have a love-hate relationship... Isnt that right Mastersquirrel? >_<
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
