Grandia III USA update...

Postby MasterDias » Tue Aug 30, 2005 1:41 pm

Since I know there are some Grandia fans on the board, I figured I would post this. However, there is some good news and there is some bad news.

The good news is that, according to a Gamespot preview, Square-Enix has started at least a little bit of localization.

The bad news is the fact that Grandia III's sales took a major nosedive in the second week...
Check this out:
August 1-7; 2) Grandia III (PS2,Square-Enix) - 121,935

August 8-14; 9) PS2 - Grandia 3 - 27,378

Ouch, that's just painful to look at... They were expecting it to do quite a bit better.

At any rate, it would probably be a good idea anyway for all of the Grandia fans to send an e-mail to Square-Enix and let them know that we want the game localized. I'm not sure what to think about the less-than-steller sales, but Unlimited SaGa was brought over and I'd imagine Grandia III would be bigger in the states than Radiata Stories, so it couldn't hurt anything to send one.
*shrugs*

It's gotton generally positive reviews from import reviewers and such so...

Man, I'm going to e-mail Square and demand Grandia III come state-side. >.O; And hope desperately that it's as good as Grandia II...because Grandia Xtreme was a serious letdown for me. XD; It's comforting to know that it's looking pretty good so far.

Guys, Grandia will come to America. Why? Think about it KD: Grandia Xtreme came to America and thot sold better in the U.S. Yeah, so I have high hopes. Grandia Xtreme is a good game just absolutley nothing compared to the past two. Parrallell Trippers was an exception. They might make a remake for the DS and send it stateside.

All I know is Grandia Xtreme made more money in the US then Grandia I so I have high hopes. PS3 will probably be out when Grandia III arrives. When do you guys think it will arrive?

Oh yeah, Grandia Xtreme only lacked one characteristic: A Grandia-Style Story.
Which is BIG.

I never said I doubted that it will come over - my main concern at the moment is how long it'll take it to come over.

Oooo... You have my attention Grandia III.

Thanks for the link Master D. I will have to keep my eye out for this one. ;)
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
