PC Game recommendations...

Postby Puguni » Thu Aug 25, 2005 7:53 pm

I'm not too familiar with games for the PC and I've had a time looking for something I like. So, basically I'm looking for any genre, preferably RPG, that doesn't require the internet (not interested in MMORPG) and something that won't shock my parents when they look over my back. I don't really care too much for top notch graphics either. Thanks, you guys! ^^

the best rpgs for the pc IMO are
Neverwinter Nights and
Dungeon Siege 1 (i havent tried 2 yet)
alot of people liked the baulders gate series, i never got a chance to play them
(there arent too many console type rpgs)

some other good games are

beyond good and evil (action adventure) (one of my favorite games ! :))))
warcraft 3 (real time strategy)
psychonauts
the jedi knight/academy games

*points to The Traveller's Guide in his signature* I'm not even close to having it done yet, but what's there is playable. Feel free to check it out. :)

The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind would be right up your alley then, and will definitely occupy your time if you dont grow bored of it since the game is absolutely enormous. Deus Ex is also worth a look if you dont mind an Action/RPG, a really great near-future story backs that one.
Also check out some games in the Adventure genre, like Beyond Good & Evil, Syberia 1 & 2, and The Longest Journey (with it's sequel, Dreamfall coming out in Sept.)

Freedom Force was a lot of fun (the original requires a patch if you have SP2). Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich wasn't bad

Don't forget Anachronox, if you can find a copy somewhere!

Since NWN was already mentioned, I don't think I can add too much more.

King's Quest 1-7 owns. It's really old school (bad graphics, typing interface, products of the 1980s-early 1990s), but it is the best game series ever. It is fun for the whole family and has fun puzzles. I'm not too sure about the content in KQ 8 because I never played it, but it didn't look as family-friendly as its prior incarnations.

I enjoy The Hobbit for nice, relaxing fun, and then Lord of the Rings: Return of the King for my hack 'n slash fix.
