I looked around and I haven`t seen any threads for this game series yet.
Well let`s talk about it.

There've been quite a few actually, but they are rather old. I don't know if it's better to gravedig or start a new topic.

I mostly liked the game, but it was just a tad too Disney for me. I really couldn't stand having Donald and Goofy in my party for the whole game. I really enjoyed the FF tie ins though. Fighting Cloud and Sephiroth made the entire game worthwhile just on its own.

So true.
I don't own a PS2, so I was unable to play the original, but I got Chain of Memories for the GBA. I don't care what anyone might say, but that game . Already knew a bit of background from my friends a reading the walkthrough for the original, and now I'm freakin out about KH2. I mean, is everybody part of the Organization suddenly, or what? Just look at any pic from it and you'll find Sora dressed in black while Riku and Mickey are in the Organization uniforms.
Yeah, it is Disney and all, but the game is still great. It'd be amazing if they did Pixar movies in it, but I don't see that happening...

I loved the story. ANd Sora is so cute. And I mean cute huggable cute. (though that sounds a bit strange coming from me since I'm not into hugging.) He's just a sweetie. I bought my PS2 so I could play the game. And I loved it. Donald and Goofy sucked. THey were useless cannon fodder even at level 100. I played Chain of Memories as well on my couisns GBA. Excellent game. My cousins used me to unlock the Riku version since I'm better at these kinds of games then they are. Oh well at least I was able to play both versions of the game. Which I thought was very intresting. I think that the game added a very important part to the story.
Consdiering at the end of the first game Riku seems to be possibly dead since you beat the crap out of him. Then in Chain of Memories you see him and how he is fighting the darkness within himself. Plus Ansem is still in Riku and will possibly reassert himself later. Also Mickey and Riku join up together in their journey. Mickey also says that Riku uses the darkness unlike anyone else.
I really enjoyed beating up Tidus in the first game. I spent a lot of time on it. Heh heh.

Yes, Goofy and Donald were boat anchors, for the most part. At least they were somewhat decent at lobbing health potions at Sora. I wish we could have replaced them with other characters, but the game still was a lot of fun to play.

I've been wondering if it was worth getting a GBA just to play Chain of Memories in advance of the second KH title due to come out in the next few months or whenever.

In my opinion it is worth it to play the game. I wasn't going to play it but my cousins got the game so i did. It was a much easier game. However you learn some intresting things about the guyus in the black robes. And also I think the most important story arc in the game is the Riku one. The story is good. Plus you don't have Goofy and Donald bothering you in battle unless you want to use them as cards. Plus I found out the US release got pushed back to december for Kingdom Hearts II. I can't wait.

This game is so much better than I thought it would be....

In fact, this was THE game that made me miss a lot more class than I should have last spring... XD But even though I had to cram like crazy at the end of the semester, the story line made it SO worth it.

Same here. When I first heard about it I thought it would be lame. But when I played it it was wonderful. Actually beat both versions in 8 days. And I don't even have my own GBA. I played while my cousins were at school. And its not like I really have much to do.

*can't wait for KH2*

You know.. I think that in the month that it finally comes out, I'll change my avatar to Sora for the month.

Anyways, I really enjoyed this game. I honestly think that it was the best game square has come out with this console generation. I was put off by the disney tie in at first, it really made me think it was just a game square was putting out to make a quick buck.

Oh, how wrong I was. ><

I disagree with the last part.

How many of you guys wound up beating Kurt Zisa? I spent TOO many hours on that part of the game, so I didn't get to see the special movie clips until I downloaded them off of the internet.

I beat that boss easily. The hardest boss in the entire game for me was Phantom and yes, i beat Sephiroth easily. Do you know where kurt Zisa`s name comes from? Some kid won a contest to have a hidden boss share his full name. Some kid named Kurt Zisa won. This is what i did:

I kept casting Firaga at him until his sheild went down and just ran and attacked. This boss is alot more easy if you have the abilty where you get MP if an enemy attacks you.

I still haven't beat the Phantom. Only guy I haven't beaten. Everyone else has fallen to Sora's mighty keyblade.

I found Kurt Zisa very annoying, but I eventually defeated him.

The Phantom battle isn't really difficult per se once you get his moves down and get a good strategy. It's just long.
Although, it's been a really long time since I beat either boss.

I loved the intro FMV for this game! Unfortunately, I didn't really get too far beyond that due to a short attention span and a brother that has a habit of hogging the PS2

I was kinda dissapointed that there wern't too many other FMV's throughout the game, ala FFX. I know, I know though, gameplay is far more important than uber-cool-pretty-looking cinematics.

I'll have to try that boss again then. I'll probably have to find a good FAQ though. Since I've lost to him so many times.

How would you know how many FMVs are in the game if you haven`t made it that far passed the intro as you said.

Because my gamer brother beat it and I have a habit of wandering in and watching him play for prolonged periods of time.

From what I saw, I didn't see any FMV's past the intro, although it's presumable that the ending would have an FMV as well. I could be wrong though, maybe I had bad timing and missed all of 'em. Though I'm pretty sure that my brother would have made me watch them...

FF10 has a reasonable amount of FMVs but FF8 has entire hour of it. It makes you feel more like you`re watching a movie than playing a video game which can be good at times.

hey I liked FFVIII. Me and 2 of my friends love the game. Didn't like FFVII though. I think Kingdom Hearts was great. Except for in the middle of battle when all of a sudden all I could see was a barrel or the back of one of those fat purple or orange guys guys.

FF8 is my favorite right next to FF7. FF8 just trails behind. I like the fact it was like watching a movie as much as a game.

Well hate to burst your bubble guys, but it looks like KH2 won't be out till 2006, Here is a quote from a KH website i go to,

Though his responses were vague, Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada spoke on the plans Square-Enix had for 2005/2006 which led to the discussion on the timeframe of release for Kingdom Hearts 2. Below is an excerpt from IGN.com.. "..Unfortunately, Wada is vague in comments on the release of Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts II, stating only that their Japanese and worldwide releases will occur between this year and next year. This seems to suggest that at least one of the two titles won't make it out in the states in time for Christmas.." Interesting thing to note here is how Wada says worldwide for the release of Kingdom Hearts 2, rather than a few month delay for the game to hit Europe, or the States.

But noew i went on today and found this:

Square-Enix has officially announced in a press release that Kingdom Hearts 2 will be in their E3 lineup when it is presented at E3 during the weekend of May 18-May 20.

The following is what was said in regards to Kingdom Hearts 2 in the press release:

KINGDOM HEARTS II for the PlayStation®2 follows Sora, Donald, and Goofy on their continuing quest to find their friends and King Mickey. Haley Joel Osment (Secondhand Lions, The Sixth Sense) reprises his role as the main character Sora and is joined by Ming-Na (ER, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within) who voices Mulan and James Woods (Be Cool) who returns as the villain Hades, along with a slew of soon to be announced celebrity voices. It has been a year since the events of KINGDOM HEARTS CHAIN OF MEMORIES. The story begins in Twilight Town, a quiet burg nestled between night and day. Sora and friends are joined by a vibrant new cast of characters, including the king himself! In the effort to help Mulan and stop the villain Hades' devious plots, they will encounter countless dangers both familiar and brand-new. The release date for KINGDOM HEARTS II will be announced at a later date. This title has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

So thats cool!^^ I can't wait for it!^^ I beat all the bosses in KH including Shadow ringwrath dude, Kurt Zisa, and Sephiroth.

I beat evreyone too very easily. Sephiroth was easier than any FF last boss to me. And I`m still going to expect to see Kingdom Hearts from September to December 2005.

How come the made the first one in the US first and they`re making the rest in Japan first. That`s wicked stupid. I have made storlines and plots to my own RPGs and thought up my own battle systems which are technically possible. I`m going to go to college for this stuff so expect to see my company as one of the first RPG making companies that make their games in America first.

Is it illegal to make a TV series in America using Anime. I`ve never seen an American one besides Teen Titans but that doesn`t count.

Uh, i think the first KH was made in Japan, then they made KH: Final Mix Which included:

Final showdown, Cloud and Sephiroth duke it out *it rocks, but they don't show the winner*
Kairi talking to Sora about her palpu fruit key chain *the oathkeeper*
Kind Mickey talking to Riku in Kingdom Hearts
Aries talking to Sora about Cloud
Two new bosses, One in Halloween town *he's just an extra boss* And the second boss is one of the Organization members *you don't see which one*
and after Sora seals KH he rembers times with Riku *Really cute part*

Oops kinda rambled there, any how then they made KH: CoM So it's all been made in Japan*from what i know*

And There is Amaerica anime, so no it's not illegal.^_^
