Resident Evil

Anybody like this gameing series? I happen to be a huge resident evil fan. Though i havn't been able to play any of the next gen versions of the games. The general feeling you have when you first pick up the game is general creepiness and your very supseptible to jumping, i think its great. The development teams did an awsome job creating a "scary" atmosphere, really its not scary, but it is good for a nice jumpy time, specially when you dont know whats going to happen next, i mean now i just blaze through zombies left and right, but i still like it. Anyone else have any thoughts?

yeah i loved playing the reissue of resident evil for the game cube, the new graphics are probly the most awsome ive seen in a game. the only problem is the grafics were a bit too much for the system, during the cut seans there was some lag and loss of frame rate. other than that it was seamless, no bodyparts disapearing through objects or walls.
oh yeah i wish it had been longer though 12 hours wasnt enough.

You also seem to think it's great to share this feeling with friends too ...
Conversation excerpt after Gypsy figures out the weird RE controls
Aaron: ... Now go down the hallway.
Gypsy: It's an awfully long hallway. Is something going to jump me?
Aaron: No. Just go down the hallway. Now go through that door. I think it's cool the way the loading screen is like that instead of a stupid .... why are you giving the controller back to me?
Gypsy: Because this game is freaky!
Aaron: You're been playing for five minutes. Here, take the controller back and walk down that hallway.
Gypsy: What's that noise? Something's moving!
Aaron: Yeah, that'd be a zombie. Now ... no, don't run into it.
Gypsy: I'm trying to run away! Eww! What's it doing?!
Aaron: Eating you. Shoot it. ............................. um .......................... ok, uh ..................................................... you can stop ......................... it's dead.
Gypsy: Then why is it still moving?!
Aaron: They twitch. Generally, in this game, you want to save ammo, and not unload all your clips into the first zombie. Now, walk out out of the alley and onto the street.
Gypsy: A taxi!
Aaron: Yeah, keep going to the next screen.
Gypsy: Now way! Steve told me about this part! The door's going to blow off and a zombie is going to jump me!
Aaron: Not yet. Just go to the next screen.
Gypsy: You're lying to me! The taxi door's gonna come off and jump me!
Aaron: Not this time, just keep moving. Equip the knife too, you'll need it.
Gypsy: Is there a way around the taxi?
Aaron: No, don't worry. Just walk to the next screen.
Gyspy: But ...!
Aaron: Just walk by the freaking taxi!
Gypsy: Can't I just play Harvest Moon instead?!
And that was my RE gaming career. Correct me if I'm wrong, Aaron, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went.

RE! Yeah, love survival horror games. But ini horror genre (of the suspensful and scary atmosphere), Silent Hill series is by far the creepiest most scary game I ever played.
RE is fun for the firepower. YEAH! EAT MY ROCKETLAUNCHER NEMESIS!!! DON'T YOU "STAAAAARRRS" ME AGAIN!!!
I only never finished RE1 and RE: Code Veronica (Dreamcast, me no have, me play at house of friend) and I haven't touched RE0 yet. RE2 and 3 however, I got every ending possible with as many unlocked weapons I could manage that I actually finished them in record time O_o (1-2 hours? Skipping the FMVs)

I've only played Resident Evil 2 for the N64. Great game! I'm trying to gather some extra money to buy RE: Zero. Have you played Eternal Darkness? That's one of my favorite GCN game!

RE is a great series for a few days of fun. My brother is the one who got me into it. I have played every "true" game. i haven't really played/beat the spin offs like Shooter ones or the Gameboy one (which i own and think is ... blah.) All in all it is fun.
Go Wesker.

RE is very high on my short list of games I will NOT play. I hate games with a creep factor, because they're just not very much fun (IMHO) -- I play games for entertainment, not for heart arrhythmias.

<gotta say Nemesis is my fav>
Personally, I go for 2. Nemesis was good but not excellent.

for me the fav is between RE2 or Code:V. my favorite mini-game was either Hunk from RE2 or Leech Hunter from RE0.
and Agian coolest character: Wesker as seen in Code:V.

RE is a great series now on the GameCube. That makes me mad.
My best time ever: RE2; 2:35 Claire.

I am a long time fan of the Resident Evil series, although I haven't played any of the newer installments.
I played and beat the original Resident Evil: Director's Cut and Resident Evil 2 on PS1. My best time in RE1 is 47 minutes.
I bought Resident Evil: Nemesis for the Dreamcast. I played it for 5 minutes, then never touched it again. Not that it was a bad game...I just never finished it.
I would like to play Resident Evil: Code Veronica at some point, and I will probably get the upcoming Resident Evil: Outbreak. I like the idea of playing online with others, and playing as a zombie after you die. It reminds me of the Night of the Living Dead film series. Hopefully it won't be a disappointment.
If I had a gamecube, I might get RE: 0, but until I do, I won't bother with it.
I saw the first Resident Evil movie, and I am excited about the sequel. It should be good.
Favorite RE moment: Blasting the tyrant with the rocket launcher in RE2. "Game over," is right.

I'm with Shooby -- if I'm too scared of a game I can't really enjoy it. Which is why I never want to WATCH, much less play RE XD
Gypsy, that conversation was hilarious.. sounds a bit like I might act

The only game that REALLY freaked me out in the series was the remake of the original. I almost couldn't finish it.

i think the survival horror genre is my favorite now. i do look forward to the future releases of this series. the most horrible one i have played is RE: Gaiden for Gameboy Color. it was just... blah. Code Veronica is one of my fav.s. when do we get to play as Wesker??

I would like to play

I mean i have played with Wesker in the mini-game. what i want is a true story line role for him... and with his powers. i mean in the mini game he should have had super speed or strength or something. not just a combat knife.
the RE series usually has great games to play after you beat the game. i loved Hunk's mission on RE2 and all the different ones off of RE3, finally the leach hunter game off of RE0 is a bunch of fun.

I loved RE3! Of course, it was the first RE game I ever played.

I like Resident Evil 1 the best, even though I will admit that RE2 is a superior game in objective terms.

i would say that RE2 is prolly the best. it gave you tons of stuff and while as advances are made old games look less and less spectacular, it is a great game. playing thru with either character and the mini-game the gauntlet with Hunk and Tofu. And the G-virus. For its time it has given more than any of the other games i think.

i like the RE2 as well eventhough the graphics is not so good

the graphix aren't as good sure, but i still like the way the game looks and feels. I just hope they dont remake all the games in newer platforms, that'll get really anoying quick imo.

Sounds like you were playing either 2 or 3, if you think those are scary, don't even mess with the Gamecube remake of the first.
Anyways, after you've beaten it several times, it's not so freaky anymore.
