PSO is truly fun, but I think it was originally for Dreamcast then was remade for Gamecube. the only reason they did this was so they could put episode 1 and 2 together.

The game is great because you can make up a character entirely from scratch and then play with it.

My character is almost perfect all it needs is the Celesti Mag...

PSO is a great game. I haven't played very much lately though. Yeah, PSO was originaly for the Dreamcast.

Phantasy Star Online. I ALWAYED played it 2 years ago when Seganet was up. My friend bought the GC version. The online connection is SOO MUCH MONEY tho. Dreamcast was free! But after awhile the game gets boring.

- no story
- same fighting
- same enemeys

otherwise, its fun for awhile.

I almost picked it up for my xbox, since I'm severely lacking in 'box games. Is it worth $40 new, or should I hit ebay?

I wouldn't pay $40 for it. It was a cool game, but that sounds a bit steep to me.

The XBox version REQUIRES that you have XBox Live, so if you're not online, you won't be able to do anything with it (unlike the GC version which lets you play the off-line stuff that it has without an internet connetion).

Just in case you didn't know (though it is listed on the package)....

Hmm... Well, like ultima, it seems more people know about PSO than the old Phantasy Star games... Anyone know about that?

Anyhow, I played PSO for a while... It was fun until I had played every level like 3 or 4 times, and I ran into some cheaters and, well, they gave me some nice weapons but other than that ^_^ um... Yeah, it got pretty repetitive... PSO version 2 was pay for play, though, so I never bothered with that one...

I'm thinking about getting the orgional eps for the GBA. The reviews for the former games look to be very good. Time and money will only tell.

I didn't bother with the pay to play PSO v. 2 for DC either. I have the first PSO. I used to play online quite a bit until I moved. I did feel that it was a waste of money, though. The game is fun, but only four areas, a handful of enemies, and a lacking single player mode make the game a bit of a disappointment.

I actually own the first three original Phantasy Star games for GBA (the Phantasy Star Collection). The first two are excellent, but the third one is merely good, but not great. However, the collection is an excellent value for two good sized RPG games and one decent sized one. Oddly enough, all three of the games in the collection are bigger than the first Golden Sun.

Golden Sun was pretty much just a launch title, and not the best example of the GBA...

I was a big fan of PSO when it was on the Dreamcast, but since I have neither a Lamecube nor an Xbox I can't play it anymore. :(

Like Gauntlet, PSO is one of those simple, repetitive games that still manages to be fun and addictive after hours of play.

If only it was available for the PS2...

I ordered PSO from amazon a few weeks ago

It still hasn't been delivered yet :bang: Boo!!

I first played it round my m8s house when he had a dreamcast. I didn't think it was very good then (can't remember why), he then bought it again for the Gamecube and I played on it a couple of times and now I'm hooked. I CANT WAIT FOR IT TO BE DELIVERED!!!! :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

Heh. I have extreme luck on this game. On hard mode with one character, alone, I have picked up three Delsaber's Left Arms.

I was thinking about buying PSO for GC, but I thought it looked more like a card battling game than an RPG.

That's Episode three. I don't think it is as good. Get episodes one and two for GC, it's great.
