Well, there is a Warlock class, which uses demons for its special abilites. I personally stayed away from that class [if I had the time, I'd reactivate my account and play . . . nyu]. That's all I remember.

Theres the shawman class on the Horde side... I've never used it but (never been a horde for that matter) but I think in the instruction manual it said something about them channeling the dead or something? I may be getttin it confused with Guild Wars but I think it was WOW...

Anyway, there is lots of magic and spells and stuff but its all fantasy stuff... not serious at all. If you've played FF or Zelda, there really shouldn't be a problem with this. And if things like Warlocks and Shawmans are offensive, don't play em :D Or just be a rogue... they don't use any magic and I think they pwn :P

I looooove the warlock class. I almost regret making a mage and not going for warlock.

Esentially, a warlock is a "debuffing" class. And yeah they are all "dark demony blah blah" to make themselves sound all special and stuff.

And a shaman is essentially a "dark paladin" so to speak.

If you don't like magic-users, stick to rogue, warrior, or hunter.

I was just wondering. There is a fine line between Final Fantasy style magic usage and occultic style.

I don't think Warlocks shooting shadowbolts or conjuring dark spells so that you'll lose 5 health every second is really accurate in comparison with modern-day occultists.

Thanks. Now that that is cleared...what would be the best class for me? I'm a warrior-melee type person most of the time, and I prefer that class over others. I can't stand just sitting back and wailing on someone with fireballs.

A friend of mine suggested I be a rogue, but I know little about using stealth characters.

I don't recommend rogues for someone new. They can be tricky to use.

I'd recommend Hunter. They are incredibly fun. Dwarf Hunter is the way to go! Or human warrior or Paladin.

ummm thats just odd.

Anyways I have a lvl 60 rogue that I raid with quite a bit. Its a really enjoyable timekiller later at night since I have nothing else going on at that time and ussually finish my homework before it. Works out perfectly for me acctually.
I would suggest raiding to anyone that has decent gear at 60, I know a ton of people knock it but you tend to spend less time raiding ussually then you would other places in that game.

And rogues aren't that tricky we just have to do lots of damage really quick. I enjoy it and its fairly easy to level up but its not the easiest. Mages and hunters seem to be the easiest. I hear pallys are horrible to level though.

I just say it because as soon as my best friend started playing it you never see him any more before every weakend we hung out after wards he never goes anywere you have to go see him and even if you do he dosnt talk to you much. Had my 21 birthday couple months ago I invited him because he is my best friend but he couldnt go because he didnt want to break his raid that he had to go on in World of War craft thats why it is a hateful sinful game it tears people apart and pulls them away from reality (that goes for all mmorpg's)

He dosnt do anything with his life just playes that game.

Oh right of course. I mean, come on. A person like me would never be able to have a job, go to school, have passing grades, go to youth group meetings every Friday night at church, and see friends on the weekends when I'm not working since I play MMORPGS...

Oh wait... I DO! Yes! I do have a job! Oh in fact I make about 150-200 dollars a week! I'm also a senior in high school with passing grades. Oh I also see my friends regularly and attend church! Oh yeah, and I am a World of Warcraft Addict, with 2 characters each in a guild.

You sir, need to stop using video games as a scapegoat. It is not World of Warcraft's fault that your friend stopped socializing and hanging out with you. It's your friend's fault for not being a responsible player and being able to limit and control himself. So don't go blaming World of Warcraft for anything because it's your friend's fault, not a game's. It's like alcohol. Is it alcohol's fault that somebody is an drunken alcoholic? No, as there is nothing inherently wrong with drinking alcohol. It's the drinker's fault for not being able to limit him or herself.

You can't blame the game; it isn't the game's fault. In fact, I've seen people get addicted to things that are GOOD for them. I know a guy who was addicted to exercise, he wouldn't do anything except work out or jog. Does that mean exercise is hurtful and sinful? No, it means he didn't control himself.

ANYTHING can be made to be an idol and tear us apart from God or our family. Even CAA could become an idol, does that make CAA hurtful and sinful? You're an anime fan, some people might do nothing but sit in their room and watch anime, does that make anime hurtful and sinful?

No. There's nothing inherently wrong with MMORPGs the same as there's nothing wrong with CAA, exercise, or anime. It's not the fault of the object, it's the fault of the person.

A little over half a year. Wow = like 20 dollars (now) + 1 free month, + 30 dollars every 2 months.

But the expansion pack is arriving soon. That cost some money too.

just tell me one thing how much do you pay to play the game in a year. include what you would have to pay for high speed internet why do you believe it is worth it? Now Im not chasticing any one on this one I spend my money too but I just have a hard time paying for subscription tipe stuff I enjoy buing games I like to collect them in fact. Yet I have a material object that I get with it. I also work on cars for show and just friving I have 3 projects going right now. But bills suck sort of like cable and stuff so just tell me what motivates people to buy a game then also subscribe to play it. ( I would also understand if there was like a single player game with the multiplayer but its just a multiplayer game)

Fun could be a factor. Why would you subscribe to a newspaper or a magazine?

The same reason why some people subscribe to magazines, or subscribe to cable television that costs them 50 dollars a month. Because it is something they enjoy. World of Warcraft is something I enjoy. Thus I will pay money to play it.

Oh and world of warcraft would be tremendously boring as a single player game.

On a yearly basis, world of warcraft probably takes the amount from only 1 of my paychecks. Just one! So quit your whining, grow up and learn to respect the decisions of other people. Just because you disagree with it doesn't mean everyone else has to.
