When does this message appear? When you're trying to download, or when you try to run the game? Ooh, sorry about that ^^;

The download went fine, but it was when I tried to run the actual game ^^ It would pop up that error report that ask if I want to send the error report or not :-?

I admit that I got side tracked from playing your game UC, however I've gotten back to it and am hoping to finish it soon (hopefully). I do have a question though, does the skill Pretty do anything?

For the record, we are working on Tsukuyomi's issues via PM and the file itself seems to be intact.

It makes you feel special.

Without checking the database, it might add something insignificant to one stat somewhere, but it's one of the few joke skills. I had almost forgotten I threw that in there.
EDIT: It adds one to your maximum HP. The ramifications of the skill are terrifying, especially since it also makes the wearer feel pretty.

So, I just realized yesterday that I majorly screwed up. Basically, I overlooked earlier where you posted that there was a new bug making it impossible for Irene to enter the pyramid and am now unable to continue in the game at all. I do have another save file however its very old (I've played over 3 hours since I made it) and I don't want to redo everything I've already accomplished unless I absolutely have to. Is there anyway that I can get a version of the game where the pyramid is already unlocked?

Yes. I will send you a link to a version of the game with no seal on the pyramid. You can use it to play through that area, just be sure to switch back to the normal version once you are done (it will be locked again, but there's no reason to return).

Thanks, I was able to get into the pyramid and transfer my save back to the version of the game that I have. So, I'm going to just go ahead and upgrade the version of the game I have now so I won't run into anymore of these problems.

After playing your game a bit, I downloaded RPG Maker VX and fiddled around with it a little. I've used RPG Maker XP quite a bit in my spare time, and one of the biggest differences that stood out to me was the quality in the music resources. This is just my opinion, but I've found the music in RPG Maker XP to be way better than in VX. If you haven't already considered it, it might be worthwhile to incorporate some of that music into your score. I can send you the files if you're interested.

I remember that you wanted us to tell you when we got here, but, storywise, I'm pretty sure I'm close to the end. I don't know if you have posted a new link with the correction to the final bosses HP, but if you haven't anytime in the future should be good. I'm still working on trying to get knock out the rest of the side quests and collecting the last things so I can go to the final stage of the game so there is no hurry. I can always wait...

The boss HP fix has been included in the last two versions of the game, so if you've downloaded it any time recently you should have the normal amount of HP. But yes, if you're doing the sidequests you're fairly close to the end. The final area is winnable without any optional content (and if you do everything and beat the hardest boss, the final area will be little trouble).

I do my best to choose songs that match the atmosphere of the area, but anything music-related is not a task I particularly enjoy. I did run out of songs I thought were good fits before I had music for all areas. So while I appreciate the offer, I'm not sure if I want to revisit the music.

Though if anyone's feedback includes musical suggestions, I could act upon those.

So, I wasn't going to make this comment yet since it was something I've written down while playing through the beta, but since I've run into it again and now it's made it so I'm stuck and may not be able to continue the game, I figured I might as well mention it now.

Since getting the ship and the airship, I have run into a number of dungeons/cities that when entered in the wrong way, you will end up being cut off from your mode of transportation. Earlier (when I was sailing around with the ship), I got around this by just returning to an earlier save and making a note of the locations. However, while trying to complete all the sidequests within the game, I managed to get myself supremely stuck by entering the dungeon that contains the First Ancient and the Death Dragon from the left instead of from below. Because of how you have the tiles arranged, there is no way for me to get back to my airship since whenever I exit the dungeon, I'm in the lower tile. Also, I've saved over my earlier saves when I entered the dungeon and decided to try and beat it.

The locations where I ran into this problem when I was using the ship were Sunich when entering from the wasteland/Calix's castle, that area where you talk to Shen before the end of the game (I think its the shattered coast) when you exit from your ship right onto the tile which allows you to enter this area, and that when you enter that one city that's been destroyed by the Imperials before entering the forest with Erwin from the dock near that city. All of these examples can probably be fixed just by disabling when you can enter these areas before and after the player has to go to them.

If you need me to clear up anything in this post, please tell me. Its late and I'm probably not thinking too clearly...

Sadly, I made map changes after I tested the transportation at length. Thank you for catching these bugs, and I believe they should be easily remedied. For your current problem, I simply changed the island so that you can't trap the airship on any tiles; it should be compatible with your saves.

Download the game again and all the transportation problems you mentioned in your post should be fixed. But just to be clear: the ship problems were when you entered the area directly from the ocean, not that you could enter them at all - correct?

Thank you for the interest. At this point, I have a fair number of beta testers, some of whom may even be giving me feedback. Hopefully it won't be too long before the fully tested game is freely available.

Yes, and thanks for the fix.

Edit: Actually, I have another question that's related to completing this game. The casino...is it at all possible to win any of the prizes in the "Insert Name Here" game...in fact is it possible to get any of the prizes in that place at all? I'm just wondering so I can have some sort of idea as to how much there is left for me to do before I beat the game...

Edit Edit: Let me add something new to this since it pertains to my earlier edit about completing the game...I've discovered that I am unable to complete the game because I missed a dark letter which whenever I go back to get, when I reappear in the void tunnel the game freezes. Of course...I clearly was supposed to return to this area earlier but now...well, I just can't. So I'm just going to go ahead and beat the game and forget completing it. I do have a list of comments from my playthrough, do you want me to post them here or send them to you in a pm?

I'm glad you have lots of help with at least the chance of feedback.:lol: I played through the demo and I hope you can release it soon. The only other time I played an RPG in this style was when I tried to migrate to linux, so I'm really curious.

You can win money, but the odds are realistic in the sense that the house will always make a profit. All the alleged items... gambling is a tax on those who don't understand probability. I've always wanted to make a game that reflected that.

Wait, how are you getting back to the void tunnel? I didn't intend it to be accessible after the event. Or are you saying that the process of acquiring the letter causes a freeze somehow? I thought I got rid of that error in the first round of testing.

In any case, if you used the other four letters, all you're missing is one conversation and an item with good skills, so you've done almost all the content. If you beat the optional bosses, you didn't even need it.

I'll include as many details of the glitch as I can remember, but from what you've described it sounds like the glitch you thought you had fixed in the first round of testing.

A great deal of polishing has been done thanks to the reviews of Peanut and ich1990 (thanks again to both). Because the game can be completed, I was intending to release no further beta versions, but apparently it is possible to end the final boss battle early. If you only fought one form, that was just the intro.

Are there other beta players who think they will be fighting the final boss soon? If so, I should be able to upload a new version with all fixes so far by sometime tomorrow. Hopefully by then I'll be able to solve the tenacious bug as well.

I am still completely willing to fix or update the game file, so comment if you find bugs or suggestions. Especially if there are multiple errors, because there's a slight chance that the file is still the pre-beta, but I don't want to re-upload unnecessarily.

Why does everyone email me about bugs directly instead of posting comments here? Sorry to triple-post, but hopefully this will reduce the number of comments I receive regarding an unfortunate game-breaking glitch introduced since the beta. I was trying to reduce sequence-breaking and accidentally brought the sequence to a full halt.

Anyway, the boat glitch should be fixed with no consequences after you've downloaded the new version. There are also other improvements and fixes along with this release. As always, the new version can be found at the same link.

You're not the first person to report an error with the update, but they had a completely different problem. If the error is coming up as soon as you load the game, then that's one of VX's generic (and unhelpful) messages.

Potentially the save files are in the wrong place, so try loading without them. However, I think it is more likely that this is my fault. I need to do some more testing, because it seems something is wrong with 1.1.

Yeah, sorry, the software is Windows only. The only cross-platform maker I've considered is sadly mired in development.
