Champions of Norrath

I purchased this game yesterday. I was out with some friends, and we decided to go to Best Buy (when you have limited access to a car, things like this are significant :P ). I was going to get The Suffering for the PS2, but instead looked for a good 4-player game for the PS2. This is actually fairly difficult, especially given the fact that I already own almost all of the 4-player titles available for the PS2 (which reflects poorly on the PS2's multiplayer library rather than well on my game collection). One of my friends pointed out Champions of Norrath, and since EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly, a game magazine that I have read faithfully for many years) gave it good reviews, I decided to buy it.

Why did I get a multiplayer game? After we got back to campus, four friends and I (the same ones that came to Best Buy) went to my room and played the game a few hours. Since I am the best at games among my friends, I had to bite the bullet and play as a cleric. The other party members chose a human warrior, erudite wizard, and dark elf shadowknight, respectively (the fifth person played as an elven ranger, but had to leave fairly early on).

The game is excellent, especially with its multiplayer capabilities. I also like the fact that the cleric is not a wimp like in most RPGs: he is a strong melee class, more like a traditional paladin than a true cleric (they can't even cast a healing spell until level 8  ). For this reason, my favorite class in the game is probably the cleric.

The gameplay is fast and challenging, especially for an RPG. The graphics are detailed and varied. The game has online support, although I haven't tried out this feature.

Unfortunately, I managed to overwrite our 4-player save file. :o Hopefully everyone will be willing to start over another day.

Did you read all of that? Thanks. :) Now comes the part where you get to post! Does anyone else have this game? What is your favorite class? Do you play online or with regular multiplayer?
