Warning Forever

Postby RidleyofZebes » Thu Aug 07, 2008 7:15 pm

A friend of mine recently introduced me to this neat little freeware game here:

http://www18.big.or.jp/~hikoza/Prod/index_e.html

Basically, It's a scrolling shooting game. Thing is, though: All the enemies are bosses. :D The first battle with a small, simple ship called the Pure Heart is over quickly. The next boss however, builds on the areas you exploited. Repeat this process a few times and you have a hulking colossus that fills half of the screen, firing tracking missiles and Vulcan cannons at you from every angle.

Fortunately for you however, lives are plentiful. You don't even have to worry much about lives, in fact. You just lose 20 seconds each time you die from a timer in the corner of the screen that steadily counts down on you. Nothing at all in the way of power ups, but you're equipped with a 360 rotating cannon that can take care of just about anything with enough elbow grease. You can also gain some time back at the end of each round if you do well enough.

Enjoy! :)

WARNING: THIS GAME IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. PLEASE USE EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN PLAYING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TECHNO MUSIC.

Looks interesting. *Downloads*

Not sure when I'll get to playing it, but I will eventually. I've got otehr freeware games that still need beating though, lol.

Wow, I forgot about this game ... First time I played it was probably 5-6 years ago. Can be extremely addictive.
Embraced by a gentle breeze, my heart breaks as I think of you.
All alone at the top of the hill, I watch as the seasons go by.

My, this is quite fun! Thanks for showing me this. I love discovering worthy freeware titles, and this one's good! Seriously addictive though... it's a good thing it's still summer or I wouldn't be getting any homework done!

Hmmm... As I continue reading the forums, it appears that there are several people who actually play and enjoy this game, and have been playing it since before I found it, at that. I wonder if there would be enough of an interest to merit a topic in which we could swap high-scores for this game. As the possible bosses you can face seem endless, sharing not just your high score and stage, but the name of the last boss you faced before succumbing might be an interesting thing to do. Anyone with me on this?

EDIT:
lol, it just occurred to me... Me and my friend are using these custom game options:
Game Mode: Custom
Start Time: 999 Seconds
Timer Mode: Normal
Number of Ships: Infinity

If my scores look so high, that's why. XD
