New Gauntlet

Postby cbwing0 » Sun Feb 29, 2004 6:54 am

According to GameSpot: "One surprise at today's 2004 Midways Gamers' Day was the announcement of another Gauntlet game. The game would be the first since 2002's Gauntlet Dark Legacy, which was roundly panned by critics and shunned by audiences."

Here is the original article: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/gauntletworkingtitle/news_6090282.html

Hopefully this will be good, although I have to say that I liked Gauntlet Dark Legacy. It will be interesting to see what they do with the series that will be so revolutionary.

Either way, this is good news.

I preferred Gauntlet Legends of the new titles most, but I still prefer the original overhead hack'n'slash over everything else. It was simple, addictive and attractive. I played it incessantly in the arcades, and when I got the C64 version, I beat on it over and over at home. (Darn that disk drive, though. Waiting for levels to load was a pain!)

I could still be champ, but I'd feel bad taking it away from one of the younger guys. - George Foreman

The only version of Gauntlet I ever played was Tengen's for the NES. And it was hard; I still haven't finished it on my own, but only with the help of cheat codes. (Walking through walls rocks. :thumb: )

my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make

*laughs loudly* I remember watching my Mom play that video game! Sailors would have blushed at some of the words used. (Kidding... sort of.) I think she got all the way through the game without using any cheat codes. Though I really don't remember, that was when I was seven or so.

New Gauntlet, eh? Sounds rather spiffy! I'm definitely going to look into it more.
