Anyone else play these games?

Taking a break from Splinter Cell and Metal Gear and purchased Syphon Filter 3 (hearing this was stealth). I tried out the first mission and the game so far involves no stealth.

It so far involves shooting the crap (or to be politcally correct, blood) out of people and nothing more. Basically a glorified Grand Theft Auto but you're actually killing for a reason.

Was the 3rd one the right choice?

If I recall correctly, the first was the best and then the series just went downhill after that.

However, that is just talking about the Playstation console version. The one on the PSP is pretty amazing, I hear (minus the story and lame dialogue).

Besides, these games tie together in plot. So it's wiser to play through them chronologically. Although I would say Metal Gear Solid is a better franchise.

Yes yes MGS is a way better franchise but still Syphon Filter is still good on its own right
