Hard Times

Postby Arya Raiin » Thu Sep 15, 2011 6:53 pm

Well, for the past three months my life has been on the borderline of insane. So, if you have the time... listening to my rather long winded rant would be nice. However if you can't right now, the prayers are still appreciated. :)

Some of you know that my mother has a very rare kind of pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. The chemo she's taking is very strong, and it seems to me that she's starting to loose a grip on her original calm self. She's not the person she used to be, and I guess it scares me.

My dad is at school most of the time (he's training to become an RT). Because of that, I don't really have his support.

I guess because of the distractions, I'm not doing very well with school... my last test grade was a C, which is bad for me. :/

Yesterday my mom served my dad divorce papers. Oh joy. :shady:

My counselor is using my situation as an example to other people who are freaking out because they think their life is terrible.

Over all, my biggest problem is sharing. I don't like to tell people what's going on. I don't want to be a burden to my friends. Even though they encourage me to share, I just can't manage it. I need to get over it...

So yea, some prayer and maybe advice would be appreciated.

I'll be praying. That's a lot to deal with. I understand your hesitation to share your troubles with people. It's risky and requires a lot of trust. My best advice would be to share just a little at a time, depending on your level of trust and comfort. Starting out with "Hey, I'm going through some difficulties right now. I could really use prayer" and slowly leading to more details and specifics is one method I'd recommend :).

Hang in there. We're all here for you.

You'll be in my prayers as well. This is a great reminder not to complain about my own life. I'm sorry you have to go through so much, but remember God is always watching over you and your family. I hope things get better soon.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.
