A few prayers

I can't believe I am requesting again, so soon after my last thread but....

1. My father has had a cough for months. I really noticed it during this last December because it's cold and flu season, but it's now June. He's finally gone into the doctor and it turns out he has a thyroid problem. They're going to see whether it can be fixed with medicine, but he might end up needing surgery. I'm praying that he'll be better without it, but it's gone on so long...

2. I ended up meeting a guy who's just amazing. The problem? He lives in Canada. Hopefully I'll get enough money saved from my summer job that I'll be able to tag along with a friend as she goes up there at the end of August, and we'll be able to visit while I'm up there.

I'm pretty sure that's it! Thank you all, and God Bless!

I'll be praying! Hope your dad gets better soon. Dang, it must be hard having your boyfriend live in another country.

I will pray ( I am praying) for your dad, for the doctors to give him the right treatment, and for you as you seek God's will in your relationship with that amazing guy you met.
May our Lord bless you with Peace and Wisdom.

xD It is June, but I'm thinking that I'll be meeting the guy I met come this August. I'm really excited and nervous about it working out (or not).

In any case, thank you all for your prayers!

Well, that lasted fast. Five days after telling me and all his behaviour implying he'd like to be dating me- and only me- he decided to tell another girl that he also liked her, and was confused as to which one of us he wanted to be with. It's over. I'm not gonna deal with that drama. It's also revealed a disturbing trend in my life- all three times I've been involved with guys romantically, they've ended up being more interested in other women in their lives, stringing me along. At least this time I learned before I wasted too much of my life on him.

So I guess I need some prayer that I can break this little habit.

Aw man, that stinks. So sorry he did that to you. I'll keep you in my prayers Atria. He's truly missing out, you are an awesome person!

Thanks, guys. It's definitely put me into a bit of a depression, but with any luck I'll be over it in another week or so.

Too bad I had to learn it from the girl he told he liked- the guy couldn't even get up the backbone to actually tell me.

He's a coward, coming from a guy with a 7 yr old plank in his eye :-/

Well, that's a minor complaint at the end of the day. I didn't really give him a chance to tell me. I guess what upsets me more is that we talked about it, decided we'd like to either work the relationship out or just start over (as friends), and then he cut off all contact.

Though, I guess that's cowardice, too.

But he was a good friend, and that saddens me quite a bit. It makes me feel like I was just a distraction or attempt at one, and not worth his time in the first place. So I'm hoping that he'll get a backbone soon, since I would hate to lose a friendship over this.

Praying for you and your father....

Well! My father has FINALLY gotten a date for the surgery. Yes, surgery, since my mother got the run-around for how to schedule the surgery- 4 different directions on how to do it, and getting the medicine presription to another doctor was one of them (I don't know, I wasn't there and listening). But they will be taking some of it out, since it's getting worse.

He'll be in for it on the 15th.

Thanks, Nate! With any luck it will be okay- it's a 1-day outpatient procedure.

From the 4th of July thread:

We found a stray dog with no collar or tags- he just wandered up to us at about 9 at night, just before we were going to set up sparklers. We can't keep him- mom and bro have major allergies- and he's been cared for recently (he's clean and not starving). So we're praying that the police can find his home soon! He'll be taken away to the animal hospital in the morning, but he's been an absolute doll. Our neighbors were setting off fireworks, and he didn't bark or have a fit... the only time we had an issue was when we were trying to get him to the backyard so we could tie him up. He's either been hit by a car or has hip dysplasia, and it hurt when we tried to help him up. So we're also praying that the dog will be healed/be in less pain soon!

I'm praying for your dad.

And that the dog's owner can get to him. I'm also sorry to hear about your guy-friend. :/ that's pretty awful.

Praying for both your dad and the doggie.

Thanks, guys.

I wish I had better news about the dog. In full daylight, it was easy to see that he hadn't been groomed or taken care of in a while- it just seemed that way when we were looking at him by flashlight. During the night it also became apparent he was abandoned. I was up from 2 am to almost 6, almost constanly outside because the dog was fussing and starting to wake up the neighbors because he wanted in.

Getting him taken care of was also interesting- we ended up having to give him baby asprin since he was in so much pain. However, because of his injuries and age (he's an old dog- we could see the white on his muzzle), they said they would have to put him down in a few days if no one takes him. We don't know anyone who could take him, so while it breaks our hearts, we can't stop it. So please pray he finds a good home or passes on peacefully.

My dad technically had his surgery today- it was a biopsy, though, so it wasn't removed, and he still can't really breathe. However! It appears to be non-malignant, and we're hoping that the slides show the same as the initial appearance. Thanks for the continued prayers, guys!

Indeed! Will continue to pray, and praise God that it seems non-malignant! Cancer is a terrible thing to go through. I'll pray for the doggie too! :thumb:
