Finding myself

For those who don't know I'm currently a now sophomore college student well next semester anyway XD but my degree is a BA in Music. As of currently feel really burnt out on it like BAD burnt out I enjoy singing for other people and being in ensembles but it doesn't feel same as it used to.

((To give background I've been in a music program of some form or fashion since I was like 4.))

On top of this school has been rough not cause of the classes but I tend to be a family oriented person I love my family a lot I'm very close to both my parents which I'm thankful for immensely. I'm not about to quite school but I find my self tugged into two different directions.

On the one hand I can continue my music and probably hate it by the time I graduate or on the other hand I am heavily considering going into Criminology or becoming a criminal profiler. This being because I'm quite interested in the Forensic field its rather fascinating to me.

Plus another Prayer is I'm heavily considering joining the Navy after college its something I really want to do and it feels right I grew up with my dad being in the Navy for 25 years and honestly I feel I would become a better person through it.

All in all I am going to do some major soul searching this summer and get right with God while I'm doing this because I have not been feeling as close to him as I normally do this past school year and it hurts to say the least.

So Pray for all this and thank you for your time.

Love

Althaia

Hey Althaia,

I know how you feel. I can't seem to make up my mind on what I'd like to do, cause I like so many things. It's more of a mood thing, for me at least. If it's the same for you, you'll find your interest in music renewed again at some point.

I have some friends in the Navy (a few in the service in general, actually). I've never asked them about why they chose it, so I'm curious, why do you want to join? There are lots of ways to help you become a better person, so why this way? Something your just used to? i.e. What's the drawing factor?

Pardon my observation (as I see you're a girl), but you seem to have the same thought process as my brother: your first liking -> criminology -> armed services. Just thought that was interesting.

My advice: stay in school. If nothing else, it'll give you time to think more about what you like and what you want to do. A degree always helps when finding a job as well.

I'll be praying for you
Your future is in God's hands!
