Moving

My husband and I are moving out of our apartment when our lease expires at the end of May. I'm excited, because I really don't like it here, and the rent is going way up if we were to renew for another year.
We've found a three-bedroom house that we're going to share with two roommates (both are friends of ours) in order to save as much money as possible over the next year or so.
Problem is, this 3-bed house is literally the only one in the area we can afford to live in for two months by ourselves until our roommates can move in at the end of July. We are taking a huge risk by telling our apartment manager that we intend to vacate before we've got another place secured, and we're also taking a risk by having to pay $700 a month rent for two months while we wait on our roommates. We also have to handle the $650 deposit by ourselves. We have some money in savings, and I have a part-time job doing house cleaning for some friends of mine, so that should help cover everything. It sucks, but it can be dealt with.
What I'm really worried about is that we'll fill out the application for this new rent house and get denied for some reason. Possibly an irrational concern, but a concern nonetheless. If we can't get into that rent house, we are well and truly screwed, as we HAVE to be out of this apartment by June 4th. If we can't move in there, there's nowhere for us to move our stuff to. And if we can't get a 3-bed house, we can't accommodate two roommates, both of which REALLY need a place to stay because they can't really afford much on their own. Most of the other 3-bed houses in the area are $900 a month, which we absolutely cannot pay by ourselves.
So...please just pray that this all works out for the best. We're trying to help out some friends and we really don't want to get burned by this, as it would set us way back in our plans to go overseas and financially screw us for quite some time. The whole point of doing this is to help our friends AND help us get money saved for overseas expenses.
