A tornado has been ripping across Alabama. It destroyed entire cities. According to K-Love radio station, 193 people died. The tornado is weakening but headed toward the east coast. I pray for comfort for the families and friends who have lost loved ones. I pray for protection for the people in danger. I pray that You use this chance to spead you love. We all know it is part of Your major plan. Thank you, God, for graciously protecting us here on the west coast. We love You, Lord. Let Your will be done. Amen~

We actually just got a tornado warning where I live and I'm home alone so I was seriously about to crap myself. The weather channel said the tornado has actually cleared past my area now and the warning is no longer in effect. All I have to worry about now are severe thunderstorms until about 4:00. I'm still more or less scared crapless though. It can't come back right?

Stupid tornados! Well, we haven't gotten another warning so far. I live in an area of PA where we don't usually get tornados, so I'm hoping it stays that way. The warning was until 11:30 to begin with so way past that time now.

Wow you guys!
I live in Tornado alley and these tornadoes haven't even hit our area at all this year. It's been really active already and Tornado season is just beginning :/
I used to be TERRIFIED of these things, every time we'd have a watch and my county would end up with a warning I'd glue myself to the TV and freak out...
But I guess over time I just realized that I'm not in control here, God is. And whatever happens, well, we can't stop it. All we can do is take shelter.
But I'm most certainly praying for those who are affected by these storms.
I would like to remind you guys, that just because you're stricken with a "warning" doesn't mean that anything is actually there. Not to say you shouldn't take action or shelter. But a lot of times, Tornadoes come up and down, and may not exactly have a pin point on your address.
Just something to keep in mind, should anyone ever get a warning. It's what I tell myself all the time.
Praying!

I live in Tornado Alley too and we've had a pretty mild season so far, with barely any storms at all in my neck of the woods, which is really weird. It's also weird that Tornado Alley seems to have shifted to the east...
Usually when there is a tornado "watch", there may not be a tornado, but there will probably be storms, and you should stay home and not go out. If there's a tornado "warning", then you should take shelter until the warning expires, just to be safe. I also recommend investing in a weather radio in case the power goes out so you can stay updated.
Oklahoma has some of the best weather coverage in the country, so usually they can tell you in advance whether you're going to be in danger or not. I wish other states would step up their game in this area. Oklahoma meteorologists have saved a LOT of lives over the years.

It's a good thing the tornado didn't hit here. Instead of taking shelter I did panic, stayed gluded to the TV as well as the window and wondered how I was going to have enough time and room to fit my dog, my bird and my 8 cats into the small closet under the stairs. xD The tornado warning is long gone and I'm still all freaked out and nervous. This is only the second tornado warning in my life with the first being a few years ago.

I'll be praying, too. I live two hours north of Elizabeth City, so my area shouldn't get hit.

Ah, we just had a tornado warning, which is in Elizabeth city. Boy was I scared because I've been working inside my college's library since before the warning began and there are plenty of windows and book stacks around(For the fear that I would actually get smashed by them during a possible tornado). @_@ However, I guess God blessed us again. We had a warning about a week ago too.
Agh, tornadoes are scary. I would much rather prefer to get a hurricane than a tornado because I'm used to them.

See, I'd rather have tornadoes than hurricanes because I'm used to tornadoes. Hurricanes scare me way more than tornadoes.

I don't mind flooding, but I can't imagine what it's like to be picked up by horrendously fast winds and then thrown through a building.
