If you had a good working relationship with your boss, and a friend of yours (who knew your boss's history), out of the blue, told you a secret from your boss's past (something they did wrong decades ago), that could cause you to look at your boss in a different light, what would you do?

Ignore it. It's something that happened in the past. Quite frankly, it's over with. Goodness knows that we've all messed up. God forgives us these things. If he didn't, well... we'd all be in a bad place, that's for sure!
He also instructs us to do the same for others.
So forgive and forget.

This exactly.

I'm actually more bothered with my friend who told me the secret. Feels like he can't be trusted if he can just tell a secret like that for no reason.

Ah. That is a different matter. You're probably right. Have you asked him why he told you?

I did. He kinda sheepishly apologised, but it still bothers me he told me this. It's as if he wanted to sabotage my relationship with my boss.
