Being personally attacked

I've been personally attacked by a couple of people that you may look up to - anime voice actors. They've tracked me down, found my personal info and made sure to blast me on a personal level. It all stems to a post I made where I disagreed with a panel that they did at a convention, because I felt they were being exclusionary. They've since started bashing me, until I had to block both of them.

I'm no great person myself, I'm an awful sinner, and I don't deserve anything good. But all I pray for is for some relief from all these attacks by these people. I now can no longer go to anime conventions thanks to them - I don't want to run into them, or any of the people who support them. That's not as big of a concern to me, I just hope for the attacks to end.

o.O wow. Praying! Also, consider contacting the police. That type of harassment is illegal and shouldn't be tolerated.

Wow..... that sounds horrible. Now, what worries me is that you said you were a horrible sinner. But remember, we're all sinners and no better or worse than you. Also, don't forget to forgive them if they ask! Just prayed for you!

I will be praying. But I agree with Atra as well, you may want to contact the authorities if this continues.

that's odd... Why would someone waste their time going after a, pardon me, "nobody" (at least in their eyes)? That, uh, requires a lot of ego, yeah? or they were seriously irritated.

I'll be praying for you,
... and them.
In time, hopefully that all gets settled out.

I honestly don't understand. I have a blog which nobody reads except one very good friend of mine. That's where I posted my disagreement with what they did at a convention. I've made it a week without any contact from them, but that's only after I shut down all comments on my blog, and blocked an e-mail address and Facebook accounts.

I won't say who they are, but the lifestyles they live are definitely not the lifestyles of Christians.

Even if you do happen to only have one friend that definitely reads your blog, there may be several others out there who view it, but don't comment at all, at least not at first (read: lurkers). Not to mention the fact that once anything goes public online, it can be viewed by anyone, and especially by those who are googling themselves. I would say that that's probably how these people found out about your post.In no way does this mean you are at fault for going public with your opinions, nor does it make said opinions invalid. I'm just saying, this is probably how they found out.

I am sorry to hear of this sort of thing, and I would expect voice actors to behave better than this... but, highly-paid actors being who they are, I'm not surprised by it either. (An assuming generalization about such a group of people, I know... but the consistent news about their behavior and activities tends to prove the point.) I hope and pray that a solution to this problem is reached very soon.

It could also be the fans/mega-fans googling these people and then alerting said voice actors to your opinions as well.

That's terrible! Over just disagreeing with a panel? O.o

I'll so be praying!

I pray that they will stop and behave better.

Funny thing is, most voice actors are not highly paid at all. The range is about $25,000 and are luckly to get 30,000 to 40,000 for their work. This is way most are trying to get in many animes as they can.

But I can say that I know some stories of some voice actors behaving badly.

Must be a case of Small Name, Big Ego.

Either way that's crazy and totally sucks.

I stand corrected. Thank you, Roy. But yeah, point still stands about behavior issues, regardless of money...
