Please pray. Things are getting REALLY bad at home. I don't know how much more I can handle. I am so upset. Yelling --lots of yelling directed at me for something I can't control (cat scratching at the computer room door --I'm trying to keep the door closed so light doesn't get in Mom's room while she's sleeping --when cat's outside the room, she wants in and scratches the door --when she's in the room, she scratches the door wanting out --I tried to keep things as quiet as possible, so I kept opening the door to let her in and out so she wouldn't make noise scratching.) She yelled at me and told me to keep the cat locked in my room, then. I'm trying my best and I get yelled at --she's slamming doors and I'm afraid. I locked the door to the computer room b/c I'm afraid. I need to go to bed, but I can't leave the room now.

I've been on wait lists for housing since July 2010. No luck yet. I really want out of this house --I'm afraid and I don't feel safe. I'm afraid of a repeat of past abuse from my mother.

I don't think I can sleep even if I am able to get to my bed in my room. There is no lock on my bedroom door and I'm afraid of her coming in and yelling at me some more.

My cat is at the boarding facility and has the "luxury suite" --which is really a larger cage with shelves to climb on.

So, my friend's mom sent me a Craigslist ad where someone was looking for a roommate. I'm normally really wary of Craiglist, but still gave it a shot. I contacted the girl and we set up a time for me to look at the apartment.

So I went last night to see the apartment. Very nice downstairs apartment --2 bed, 1 bath. The girl is around my age and is a nursing student at the community college. She has a pretty well-behaved shihtzu and 2 cats. She said my cat (and future service dog) would be welcome.

There's a small backyard behind the apartment. There are wood floors. Easy access to interstate.

All she's asking for is $400/month which includes rent, water, electricity, cable, internet. So, a good deal.

Just trying to make a final decision. I don't want to rush into this. Please pray that, if this is the right place for me to live, that I would feel peace about the decision and for discernment to know for sure.
