My friend's older brother was killed

Just a few minutes ago, my mother called to inform me that one of our really close family friend's had died. My mother's really close friend who I had known since I was probably a toddler just informed her that one of oldest sons was killed in a bar after accidently spilling a drink on him. He apologized but instead of taking his apology, the guy decided two bullets to the head was better. He had just been released from military service after a few years in the service and was planning to be going to Florida with his family. They have the murderers in custody, forturnately. But the damage had been done. My closer friend, my mom's friend son, has yet to stop crying and my mom's closer friend had become numb. She has a one-way ticket to his funeral (They're muslim, so they are going to perform the funeral quickly) because of financial problems and we have no idea when she'll be back. We plan to give her money when she really needs it but she's already on her way. I feel numb and just...shocked. I want to give them my condolescences but I don't know what to say. I've only met this guy rarely enough to actually know him personally, but I wish I knew him more.
Please pray for them and ask God to be able to recover from this tragedy.

I am prayin as well - holy crap, man that sucks!
Some people need to keep their temper at bay, seriously. Noboy can take away that awful grievance. I also pray that God would bring justice, and yet still be merciful to the murderer.

Wow, that is simply outrageous to hear. Someone like that definitely has a mental problem.
We're here to offer emotional support and prayer.

They made the arrangements to leave now and should be on their way to take the plane soon. I actually ended up mourning myself, getting comfort from my next-door neighbors whom I'm good friends with as well as needed to lean on a shoulder of one of my classmates a door down. (I live in the dormitory) Didn't go to class today, but just began to wonder what happens next with the family now. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. They had plans, and now this. So out of the blue. And I still don't know what to do for them... It's just her and her youngest son now. She has another son, but he hadn't even called her in years. Hopefully he will now, but the sheer amount of trials she's been through, with the abusive husband she finally broke away from and the economic crisis...I don't even know how to comfort her. I want to, but I don't know how. She was just getting back to her feet too, and she had done so much for me, even to give me a call to wish me happy birthday when her father died. All we could give her was some of our money at the time, but now that she's lost her own offspring whom she watched grow up and enter the military and finally come out...I don't know what to do.

What a terrible thing to happen. I don't understand why some people will kill so easily. Over things you shouldn't even really get angry over! I'll pray for both this family and you. May God give you all both comfort and guidence.
