My Car

On my way home tonight, my 2007 Ford Taurus, Gisselle, started displaying on the info screen "Check traction control" and "Check brake system" and then the info screen went completely black --and my dash lights went a lot dimmer. My turn signals also started not working properly. My ABS and spinning wheel icons kept lighting up.
This was all very sudden. I called my aunt and my uncle thinks it's most likely a short in the wiring.
Please pray for this --that I'll be able to get it to the shop tomorrow to get it repaired (and that it hopefully will not cost a ton.) I'm afraid to drive it. It's running fine, but it was scary driving home tonight with the dash lights/headlights going so dim.
I have to be at my university on Thursday to meet with a prof and classes start on Friday. I need my car to get to campus (I'm a 45 min. drive away.)
Thank you.

I called the shop this morning about the problem and they told me to bring it in. I went to leave, but the car wouldn't start, so I called the shop again and they had a tow truck come and take it to the shop.
Turns out, my car needed a new alternator. Praise God for the extended warranty! What would have cost me over $500 only cost me a $100 deductible from the insurance company.
So now I have a shiny, new premium-quality alternator with a 2-year warranty on it. And my car is running very well again.

Nice! Alternators are tricky things- mine went out during a blizzard two winters ago ><" I'm glad that you're safe and that it was covered!

My car died on the side of the interstate yesterday. It went back to the shop --apparently, the alternator that was put in was defective. So they put in another one since it was under warranty and I picked up my car today in time to make it to class at 2 (I missed yesterday's class due to the car dying.)
So far, so good. I just pray that my car keeping working normally. I commute to school now, so that's really important.

Two bad alternators? Woah! That's really bad luck! Hoping that the car doesn't have any more problems (or if it does, that it has them under warrenty!)

Car issues are a pain, and hopefully this will be the last of them for you for a while! My brother's Ford Taurus just broke down recently (though his was like...a 1996), and it was definitely not a fun process! Praying for you!
