Grad School/Job Search

Well, to make a long story short, my first semester in the Masters in Agriculture program at my university was a pretty rough one. Life happened and I really struggled. Wound up with a C in one of my classes (two C's, and you have to go to the graduate board to have them decide whether you should continue in the program).
The prof of the class I got the C in said that, now that I know what's expected of me and know the time involvement necessary, that I should do just fine in the program --which was very encouraging!

I am currently taking a minimester course --basically, an entire semester class crammed into 12 days. It's a bit crazy. I am now commuting 40 min. to school and am in class from 8-3 every day, trying to be in bed by 9 or 10 so I can leave by 7 am to get to campus. Please pray for this course --it's an undergrad Forages class, so the content itself isn't too bad--just need to make sure I stay on top of my studying/review of the material. Can't afford to procrastinate.

Also, I am currently searching for another job. I am not well-suited to substitute teaching and am desperately searching for something else, hopefully a tutoring position. I need to make more money than I currently do because the new apartment is more expensive than where I lived before.

Otherwise, things are going well. The new apartment is wonderful and the commute isn't too bad, plus I am closer to my doctor/near more job opportunities. God is good.

I am impressed that you decided to take a minimester! It sounds like you are volunteering for a very rigorous, but still rewarding experience. I will pray for your success and peace of mind.

I can feel your pain. I have been in my senior year for my BA for the last two years now and I just recently got a job that I'm not very good at at all. So I understand about "life happening", as I had some pretty rough times at University and I'm still in recovery, and needing a better job.

I will pray for you.

Still searching for a job --applied for a bunch on Friday of last week. I should hopefully hear back from some of them soon.

I'm doing ok in my minimester course --last class day is Wednesday with our final exam. Then my 2 online courses begin the next week. I just found out today that I need to purchase books. My grad classes in the spring didn't have textbooks. The one required book for one class is $109 used. The books for the other class are $68 all together for 3 used books.

Not sure how I'm going to pay for that $109 book. I guess I can take more money out of my service dog fund (set aside to pay for Handsome's training). I hate that I keep having to take money out of that.

I wound up making a high B in my minimester course! A very successful outcome to a stressful class.
I am starting the next summer session tomorrow with two online graduate-level Education courses. Things are going to be really busy and crazy, but I am excited for the challenge.

I may potentially get a position as a Graduate Assistant for another department on campus, but won't know until closer to the fall semester.

Thanks for your prayers, you guys! I really appreciate them. Please let me know if I can pray for you for anything in return. :)

Congrats! One thing that you could pray for me for is that I can get a car soon.

I will pray for success for the rest of you courses.
