Huge vehicle repair bill =___=

Well, our truck is going to get (mostly) fixed. That's the good news.

The problem is lots of things were wrong with it: the exhaust manifold, the spark plugs (which I had suspected but second-guessed myself), the catalytic converter, AND the fuel pump (stupid ethanol).

We simply cannot afford to replace the cat, so that's not getting done right now. To get all the other stuff done, it's going to cost about 800 dollars. We have no choice but to put it on the credit card, which already has a bunch of stuff on it for reasons I'm not going to go into now.

I guess what I'm asking is...pray that God will provide me with a job, or a winning lottery ticket, or SOMETHING. :\

Oh, and don't replace the cat . It has sentimental value, I'm sure.

This situation just got worse. We have two credit cards that look virtually identical at a glance. One of them had a big previous balance that had been reduced by almost half. One of them had some money on it but not nearly as much. Like a complete idiot, I accidentally put the bill on the card with the large balance, which was NOT NOT NOT what needed to happen.

My husband's grandparents have been helping us pay down that card, and we did not want them to know about the big car repair bill, but now they're probably going to find out, and it's all my fault. We had that balance lowered by a lot and it was probably going to help lower the minimums, but now I have shot that all to hell with my own two hands.

I just don't know what to do. Protip: never, ever let your family in on your finances.

At least the stupid truck runs like a champ now.
