Financial situation is spiritually draining me

My family has had trouble making ends meet thanks to the pathetic economy. My dad has been in and out of work all year long. It's gotten so bad, he can't even go duck hunting this year. (which he truly enjoys) I'm even considering filing for unemployment. I feel so spiritually drained because I keep getting these nagging thoughts that things are going to continue going downhill.
Now, let me clear up something for you folks before you criticize. I don't drive, first of all. I have no desire to learn because I have seen that split-second decisions are often necessary. I have never been good at that sort of thing, so I think I'd be a terrible driver. I still live with my parents not by choice, but by design. I am financially unable to live on my own.
