I need some serious prayer. Life's not going so great, and it's all my fault. The week before last, I was rather sick - as a result, I slept through much of my weekend. Unfortunately, this put me in a bind time-wise for my assignments this past week. Rather than buckling down and finishing them in good time, I procrastinated and ended up outright missing an assignment, botching another, and missing an out-of-class speaker ~ all in the same class. In addition, I forgot to send some items my parents needed until this evening, and ended up having to spend $110 - most of what I had - to overnight it. Last semester, I failed two assignments in a class because I missed the dates to turn them in.

I feel like such a screw-up. I'm not a naturally organized or driven person by any means, and it's been a thorn in my side for my entire life.

I feel helpless.

Wish I knew what to say, man. Sometimes things like this happen for a reason. Try not to beat yourself up too much, and keep on trusting in God. It's true that sometimes He does work in mysterious ways.

Know exactly what it means to be in that club....It's only by the grace of God that I've been able to take any of these thorns out of my side......

But remember this: He doesn't care which club you're in....As long as you're a part of His....

I was thinking the other day that there is no real difference between having an opportunity and failing to seize it, and never getting the opportunity in the first place.

But I realized later that there is a difference between the two. Opportunities that are wasted or squandered by us due to fear or whatever other reason - they CAN have value to us, but only if we choose to learn from them - so that we don't squander future opportunities.

Case in point - your mistakes in failing to be organized in the past have convinced you that something has to change. But, unless you actually decide on some positive changes to make, and then make them in your life - then the insight you've shown in this post will be for naught.

I know I've made mistakes in school because I've failed to manage my time and be organized - I think we've all been there in some way. So let me encourage you. You are not a failure - you're a child of God who has failed at something.

They say the difference between highly successful people and average people is that successful people have many more failures than average people. The key is that learning takes place after failure, and that we keep getting up and trying again.

I'm praying for you that God shows you how to make the changes in your life to avoid those kinds of things in the future. But don't let the past get you down. The past is the past - covered by the blood of Christ. Learn from your past, but never think it defines you.
