Spiritual issues

So, coming back, I'm already asking for help, but I figured that y'all could handle it.;)

I am really confused right now in my walk with Yahveh. I've been researching my mind to death, and haven't really found peace, not the lasting kind. My family thinks I've gone off my rocker, a couple of my friends have, and it's just not working out picture perfect like I wanted it to. :eyeroll:

Would y'all pray for a settling of my spirit? For an understanding of the truth? For the end of those gnawing questions in my brain(kinda like zombies)? If so, then thank you. I need all the prayer I can get right now.

Dear Oro,

I agree with you in prayer for insight for truth and the peace that surpasses understanding.

In Jesus's name we pray.
Amen.

Praying for God's strength, comfort, and understanding in your situation, Oro. It helps to remember that every Christian goes through low points in their faith, just as any healthy, loving father-child relationship wouldn't be perfect every day. You're not alone, you're not 'off your rocker' - you're just human.

I know you've said you've already spent a lot of time researching, but I would recommend that you take time alone with God in prayer and Bible reading and continue to do so in spite of whatever happens because it will help you get a grip on things. We don't always see the full scope of things at once, and in those times I've found that it's best to just trust in God. Even if we don't understand, He does, and we have peace in that knowledge.

I don't really know what specificly your struggling with, but this verse always helped me put everything in perspective, knowing that Jesus is our purpose for living and once we have Him in our hearts everything else comes as a result of Him in time:

"...their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Col 2:2-3

If there's something you want to work through in discussion, go ahead and PM me. It might help to bounce your questions off of someone else. Praying for clarity.

Yeah, USSRGirl pretty much said all that really needed to be said, but yes if your a christian in this world you will face troubling times. Tell me one person who is a christian that never went through hardship.(Sorry that may came out a little harsh.) Its just the facts of the christian life, you see that christians and this world don't mix. The world hates God(or Yahveh. Cool, Im surprised someone calls Him that. Because I remember our Geometry teacher who read Hebrew would sometimes talk about Him with that name, so its nice to hear it again.) and everything pertaining to him, so being a christian its only natural to feel this way. Ive been through sometimes myself, and its not fun. The best thing you can do is what USSRGirl said and also stick it out with the Lord. He doesn't want you to be confused and neither do we. Just as paul did "keep up the good fight, keep your course, and keep the faith." I hope you become unconfused so I'll pray for you!

Not harsh at all:thumbsup: The thing is, I know this. I have known it and in the past I felt sure that when these times came I'd be cool with them. So I'm naive.
Thanks, everyone for your prayers. Keep on, if you can remember.

Will do. I don't think any of us keep cool once we really encounter struggles with our faith. It's easy to say we're cool with it from the other end, but really all you can do is trust and rest in God when struggles come. You're helpless, but He's strong enough for both of you.

You know I am praying for you Oro. You are a wonderful member here.

The thing I want you to realize Oro is that God is not stressful, He wants you to be at peace. Take everything one step at a time. He wants you to faithfully read your bible: a couple chapters here and there, pray about EVERYTHING: what your day is going to be like, and ask Him to let those days be eventful and great.

Last thing is to just do the things He wants you to do, which is not much if you think about it.

Hold on there Oro! We're praying for you! :thumb:

Thanks for the advice and prayer, all. This junk may be going on a while, but it does make you feel happy that someone has prayed for you.
