I just found out that a friend of mine who is a pastor's kid came out of the closet to his parents over the weekend. He then immediately joined his college's gay student union. He is currently a singer in our church's youth group, and I don't think anyone there knows he is gay. I'm worried that he has never talked to another Christian about it, and I just want to be there for him. Please pray that he would open up to me and talk, because I really think he needs someone with a Christian perspective to talk to. At first I couldn't believe he had come out to his parents, but now I think it's sort of a good thing because he won't have to bottle up his feelings as much now. Please just keep him and me in your prayers. I really don't want him to go through this alone because he doesn't have to.

I'll definitely pray. This will probably be painful for all involved. I'm willing to bet he's never talked about it, and has gotten caught up in a mix of facts and lies that looks like the truth. I've struggled with this as well, and if he's anything like me he's hurting a lot and needs answers. Be ready to listen if he'll talk, and know your stuff if he asks you for your thoughts.
