A Quick Prayer

Postby aliveinHim » Thu Nov 17, 2011 12:21 pm

Hey everyone,

I recently had a chemistry test and I got an A on it. My chemistry teacher at my homeschool co-op wanted us to bring our tests in to see if we are understanding the material. I accidentally left my test at home and because I was careless, my mom told my teacher to give me an F. I am very dissapointed at happened and I'm afraid I'm going to scar my final grade. The reason why my mom told my teacher to give me an F was so I could learn responsibility. I am really angry and annoyed at myself and I need to stop getting mad at my mistakes and trying to blame someone else for my carelessness. Please pray that I stop being so absent minded. I always thought it was cute and funny on how I lose everything but in reality, I didn't realize how damaging it is.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:1-7

It is pretty bad. Look into setting up a system so this doesn't happen in the future- I had the same problem myself, so I understand. I ended up with a folder for each subject and the *moment* I was done with my assignment it went into the folder and into my backpack. And those folders never left the backpack, either, just in case. It helped a lot.

Mistakes happen, it's a part of life. There are times where everyone is absent minded, I think. I encourage you to talk to your teacher about it, and apologize. I mean, it was your fault you left it at home, and you know this. But if the teacher does give you an F, they would be, well, a terrible teacher and not "teaching" you anything at all (please bear in mind I have nothing against homeschooling, I was homeschooled for my entirely pre-college education. But seriously, taking away a grade after a test is taken is a stupid call, with the exception of cheating, which doesn't apply to this situation). You got an A on the test, so why would that grade change because you were tired one day and forgot it? You worked hard for that. To simply lose it after all that work over something you are still struggling to overcome (forgetfulness), do you really care about working hard to get an A again? I would doubt it.

I also encourage you to talk to your mom about this. Judging from your post, you do seem sorry that you forgot the test and want to become better. Perhaps if your mom understands that you are trying to be more responsible (I mean, I dunno, I think getting an A on a chemistry test is a sign of responsibility. Do you know how hard it is to get that grade? How much work it takes? (oh, I know you do)). Plus, it does seem like you learned a good lesson just thinking this over. Just keep trying your best.

I'll be praying things work out for you.

Thanks guys. My main issue is that I hae a huge tendency to be absent minded and leave stuff or "temporarily missplace" things. I guess I had to learn the sting of my irresponsibility.
