9/11 Prayer Thread

Postby rocklobster » Sat Sep 10, 2011 5:00 am

Tomorrow will be the 10th anniversary of the WTC attack. At least 3000 people died in the attacks. These families still need prayer and that is why I am proposing this thread. Post here only if you agree to pray for these families. Do not post anything political. That is not the point of this discussion. Thank you.

I also pray for those who, like someone close to me, have their birthday on this day. It's kind of sad to have your special day always now have to be a day when they talk about terrible things on TV and radio. Or suppose (what I just thought of) your anniversary was on 9/11. You'd feel so odd just celebrating.

I'll be praying.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.

Definitely praying. I remember watching the news when it happened. Of course I didn't really care much at that time since I was just four. But yeah, I remember it.

Indeed. We should remember and pray for the families who were affected ten years ago. But we should also remember and pray for our enemies. Just as much as we mourn of the losses of American lives we should also mourn for the losses of our enemies' lives as they are also the children of God. Both innocent and guilty blood has been shed on all sides.

Violence begets only more violence and hate but grace and love brings forth the spirit of God. We should pray and embody the love of God for all people.
