Friend needs help with suicidal thoughts

Postby christianfriend » Thu Feb 10, 2011 12:25 am

My good friend has been in a very tough place for a while now. He has mentioned taking his own life many times due to his circumstances, and I try to help in any way I can, and am always there for him to talk to when he needs help or even just a friend to hang out with. And things seem to get better after some encouraging and praying on my side..but in reality, they really aren't getting any better. My prayers alone can't help my friend, he is in a dark place in his life and needs as much prayer as he can get. Please, if you can spare a few moments to pray, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
C-friend

I know what it's like to be on both sides of the spectrum....it's difficult in either situation. Will be praying!

I'll be praying to.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV, Romans 8:38-39.

This is serious. You have to tell someone. Depending on your state, you have the ability to have your friend involuntarily committed. It sucks doing it but it's for their safety.

If this is severe and if they are not getting psychological help (as good of a friend you are they NEED professional help with this kind of thing) then you MUST report it for their sake. Please don't risk his or her life...

I will as well ^__^

Keep reminding him of the great things he may be overlooking :) Remind him that once he goes through with suicide, there's no "Back" button :(
