Grudges

Postby Garland » Sat Jul 24, 2010 11:27 pm

One of my friends is holding a grudge against a girl that he was dating (I've never met the person, so I don't have her side of the story) and I don't know what to do. I need help.

I have talked to him and when I did, he wasn't very open to the idea of giving it up, but he seemed a bit more open today.

I want to ask for prayer in this because I know what grudges can do to people -- they are emotionally draining and I think it's getting to him because he hasn't been joyful lately, though he fakes it well.

Sorry this really isn't that specific or clear.

IT sounds like that to me too (that his getting tired of it himself). I'll be praying ^^

You should ask him what will this bring about for him if he holds onto this grudge? What benefits will he gain for holding on :-?

Keep us updated on the situation if possible :)

Update! He decided to drop the grudge, which I sort of expected, but he decided to pretend that she never existed, but I feel that God wants to use him to bring her to Christ in some way. It was like a picture in my brain that I couldn't get rid of.

I also asked him what would happen if he saw her again, and what would happen?

Thanks for the prayer.

Also, kind of a cool thing happened at church this week.

My church is running a school, and both the church and the school have fallen on hard times. They needed $16,000 by Friday on Wednesday night for the school and the church was in need of money too.

Also, the pastors daughter had shingles which were threatening her eyesight and the treasurer, who already had shingles, found his wife unresponsive and they took her to the emergency room.

On Wednesday night, at a planned event where kids from a school in Uganda were going to come to sing and dance as a fundraiser, a $5000 check, two $500 checks, and a $7000 dollar check were in the offering. The pastor's daughter was miraculously healed -- the shingles are completely gone, and when the treasurer went in to work on Thursday, a $10,000 check had been slipped under the door, and his wife had only had a staph infection, and not a stroke.

Praise the Lord!
