Mother's job

Postby Slater » Thu May 27, 2010 5:29 am

Hey all, it's been a while, and I'm sorry that I come here only to ask for help, but... my family needs a bit of prayer.

After 21 years working as a professional at the same hospital, my mother has decided to move her employment to another nearby hospital. This was motivated by both a desire for change and a strong tension between her and one of her coworkers which simply cannot be resolved.

Yesterday, my mother received news that she was accepted for the new job she wanted. But her resignation from her current job has not gone through. Her current employers have bombarded her with very difficult decisions and incentives to stay, among which is a huge sum of money (to say it's a 5-digit number is to belittle how much it really is). So she has to choose to keep her job and get incredible benefits (as well as having to stay with the person she despises so much), or take the new job that she was already offered.

This decision weighs heavily on her and her husband, and it is not clear which the better option would be. She really, really wanted this new job, but the benefits her current employer is throwing at her is incredibly enticing. It is destroying my mother on the inside; she has spent the past 18 hours unable to eat, sleep, or stop crying. Even being there first hand to talk to her about it, I can't begin to fathom the stress she's feeling now over this.

I have fallen away from God the past years, into things that certainly will scar my soul for perhaps the rest of my life. But I know that if my mother is to find any peace or direction in this matter that it is through Him that she will find guidance. If even one among you who can remember how to pray can send one up for us, we would all be so grateful...

You don't even have to ask.

And as for those soul scarring things: whatever it is, don't be too scared of it. It's really, REALLY hard to come to grasps with, but nothing, truly nothing, can set us apart from God if we want Him. That's coming from a guy whose just getting back from a Combat Tour in Afghanistan. Believe me, man. Things do get better, even after the worst stuff imaginable.
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself
Make me believe that you are whole

I'll be praying as well ^__^

That can't be an easy decision to make. Has she tried talking to her boss about this co-worker? I know it's not exactly a boss' job to keep peace between co-workers, but if that is what/s making your mom want to leave, he/she may have to jump in o.o

I'll also be praying that you find your way back to him ^__^
