Orr young man, XD I wanted to make it sound a little more interesting.
Anyways I have a request, everyone.
A few weeks ago, while my church group and I were at a "God honoring Oktoberfest party" (where we had kegs of rootbeer and creme soda! LOL) We were advertising for the public to come join us.
A young man walked up and joined us and we started talking to him. Apparently he's stranded in my town, (he's from CA ) but he was on his way to Pennsylvania.
Anyways, he's been in my town for a few months and has been pretty much living from place to place. He is a pretty needy kid, (18 years old) and right now he's having a lot of problems.
The thing is, he's not a Christian, but he seems SO open to the idea. When we first met him, my friend and I found out he was an athiest, but despite that, he agreed to come to a church dinner with us. He's been going to church with us for the past month, and has even said that he is starting to believe in God! And that he's praying for the first time in 5 years! AMEN right?
He's starting to ask questions, like "Did God bring me into you guys' lives?" Which I answered, "I don't believe in coincidences." and he agreed.
So he's really at a critical point I believe...where he can go one way...or the other.
A lot has happened in the past two weeks, though and I think it's starting to weigh on him as well as my friend and I.
He was in jail for a week, because he failed to show up for a court meeting because he was at work... which freaked my friend and me out a bit...we actually had no idea where he was...and his roomates were like "Dunno, maybe he's dead." O_o
yaah lotsa love there, right??? We called the police and found out he was there, which we were partially thankful for...
Anyways, we found out last week that he's now moved to a town 30 minutes away. Because his roomates kinda tricked him and some of this kids friends were doing drugs outside their house but it wasn't his fault...
Anyways the family he's staying with now, isn't really a good influence on him and could really break him down. :/
And we found out they might be moving to a town a few hours away, something my friend and I are a little concerned about. Because we have "invested" a lot of time into this kid, and we are concerned that if he leaves... all the positive influence and love that we and our group have shown him...will be too far away for him to see...
Its sad because this kid is very needy he's constantly trying to get attention, and wants us to love him and stuff. He's just... had a lot of bad luck. :/
There's an opportunity for him to become an RA at a local private school. (My friend sent out an email to our church to ask if anyone would be interested in housing him until he's back on his feet.) and if that happens he will have a job, food and shelter. Which would be AMAZING!
I guess what I'm really asking for is God's will. Above all this is most important, he brought this kid into our lives and I believe that he has a reason for that. And I believe that good things will come... no matter what. This kid will be God's soon I can feel it! 8D We may have a new brother guys! Its so exciting... to see the way this kid was a month ago, and how he is now...woooah. God is great!
Anyways, thanks so much... I really appreciate it.
